Farzad, the reason GohNoei picked Shakouri's son is because his father is one of GN's Nochehes. Some years back GN brought TM to Mexico. We went to see the game in San Luis Potosi. We stayed in the same hotel as TM. When the team would come down to the lobby area, it would look like Hadi Shakouri was the only one who would warn up with GN. They were walking around the big lobby and the halls together. So I'm guessing that's what's going on. They're in the same gang that's headed by GN.

Nice read...

I'm an Asylum Seeker Fleeing Iran. I'm Stuck in Limbo Due to Economic Migrants | Opinion

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to come to the United States. I was born in Iran to Marxist–Leninists who had spent time in prison and under torture. Conceived in Marxism, I somehow became obsessed with George W. Bush's message of freedom, and I felt destined for America.

At the embassy to get a student visa, I had been instructed to assure the interviewer that I would leave after college, but the staffer didn't ask me whether I intended to stay after my studies and approved my visa on the spot without an FBI check. I know of no other Iranian who got such treatment, and I was over the moon. I had been resenting that I would have to start my American journey with a lie to the U.S. government that I respected and admired so much. I do not believe in fate, but it was fate that I did not have to lie. Or so I thought.

As soon as I had the keys to my dorm, I went to the local Target to get some essentials. Knowing that morning coffee was an Americanism, I picked up a cheap Keurig machine at Target and an American flag, which I hung over my bed; throughout college, I slept under its protection and woke up beneath it.

The school year's beginning overlapped with the height of the U.S. campaign against the Islamic State, and I was that guy—the immigrant defending American honor with a thick accent against my Lefty classmates who condemned our nation's past and Middle East adventures.

Nearly a decade later, I feel that my patriotism for this great republic that I once defended so vociferously has been deeply compromised—not by wars but by a broken immigration system that's threatening us as a nation and myself in a very real way: In December 2016, a newspaper affiliated with the Islamic Revolution's Guardians Corps published my picture on its front page and called me a traitor. The attorney general of Iran then referred my case to the district attorney for the notorious Evin Prison, leading me to apply for asylum. U.S. law requires the government to process asylum applications within 180 days. And yet, I've been waiting for a 30-minute asylum interview for seven years—thanks to a court overwhelmed by those coming through Mexico illegally, 90 percent of whom have no legitimate asylum case.

The theory of Croatians being originally from Iran has been around for awhile. Mass migrations were common in old times, as we suspect Gitanos ( koulis) of Spain and Central Europe having been originally from India that migrated westerly via Iran towards Europe. Much earlier in history and in different eras of extreme cold weathers historians suspect migration of Aryian and Turani ( turkish) nomadic tribes westerly, respectively settling in parts of Europe, India, Iranian plateau , Anatolia and Central Asia. During Sasanid era, as Sasani kings fell under influence of Zoroastrian celergy, suppression under rule of religion gave rise to new movements ( religions) namely mazdaki ( social justice) and Manavi ( spiritual). Followers of both religions were heavily persecuted and remaining members ended up migrating to where their cousins ( Mitraist) had moved to. In fact some credit rise of Christianity in Europe to presence of Mitraist elements in social and philosophical spheres of Europe. Few centuries later history witnessed westerly movement of Khazar Turks from present day Southern Russia towards Poland and Ukraine ( the non Jewish Jewish population aka the 14th tribe which doesn’t sit well with the Zionist ideologiests).
If they can go beyond the theory and can find actual proof, some researchers suspect that settlers of current day Croatia may have been descended from Mani followers residing in Qafghaz and Current Iranian Azerbaijan. I believe the strongest case so far has been the name itself ( which is somewhat significant but not enough) vs solid genealogical connections, which has proven to be difficult. Mani settlers presumably intermixed with a new wave of settlers , Slavs, moving south to the area,
The local pronunciation of the name Croatia , Hravat, has strong resemblance to Khoravat" as mentioned in Avesta, meaning "friendly.
Similarly and in smaller scale a case could be made for a subgroup of Serbs, as the word Serb has also Iranian origin, which can be recognized in the word "Charv" meaning cattle.
And as we know post Islamic invasion, we have had Parsis that moved from Iran to India.
My 12000 toman

Linguistic evidence suggests that the Croats originate from northwestern Iran and spoke a language related to Iranian. By the time the Croats appear in historical documents, they are a Slavic nation. During the Avar expansion into the Balkans peninsula, the Croats moved into what is Croatia today.

KAmkAr. Football is not used as an industry in Iran. The ticket to a game in iran is like one or two dollars. Just like here in the US to watch a football game at Sofi or AT@T or a basketball game at Crypto.com you have to pay high $$$ for the game. Sofi parking is $150. Same is true in Europe. What I am trying to say is that the ticket pricing should be adjusted so that you can see people from various socioeconomic in attendance. AGAIN THIS IS NORM EVERYWHERE. Even though most fans are from lesser status communities.
.
Price of a decent MLS seat is like $180 - $200. And the cheapest around $50. A $200 ticket is the price of 10 large pizzas on Average for decent seats and 3x large pizza for cheapest seat. So how much is a large pizza in iran? Multiply it by 5 and that should be your average ticket price in iran.
