I am actually very calm, as I said in this old age I have learned not to dwell on my sports teams losing. I went out with some friends and had 3 beers. I brought up the unpopularity of this team even before the loss today. The reason it is discussed at this time is because this chapter of the TM has been closed. Even if this team had won the Asian cup, I would still have the same opinion that it is not a mardomi team. It has nothing to do with their loss today & how they played

And Iran did not lose to a bad team. Qatar IS the defending champion. And they were very lucky in this game. The 3rd goal was as fluke as it gets, against the run of play one takes a wild shot and the ball ends up right in front of another player in front of an empty goal. It happens in football. Comments: Realist, Nefrat of the noble people of Iran towards this regime and basijis is so pronounced. I am in a whatsapp chat with 20 or so friends who live in Iran. No one had anything nice to say about the regime in Iran and many actually were unsuuportive of team melli. Amongst them I can dare to say that the only one rooting for this team was me who live abroad. People simply do not want to deal with these occupiers. Comments: Other than the game against UAE, Taremi was nonexistent. Today he was totally shut down. Anyways, the important thing is allowing 7 goals and scoring 10 is not a sign of a champion. We were 12 goals ahead and 0 conceded against in 2019 before meeting Japan. The other thing is all Asian Refs for the world Cup are chosen from this Asian Cup. Most likely we will have no representation of Iranian Ref in the World Cup. Faghani after two controversial calls in the WC and AC probably is doubtful.

Comments: Agree with Shahin, Actually after hearing Ramin Rezaian when he said that they purposely raise the price of dollar when TM is playing, it just shows how off and out of touch trhey are. They are not Besharaf. Actually many in Iran may not be besharaf or basiji but make lots of money under the system as is, and under a regulated system like in europe or USA they cannot make that money.

You can not say these players are bisharaf because they are not in my political camp so they lose the games and vice versa, they win because they are overtly anti-IRI. Comments: The problem with our football is the attitude of the fans. The interview from Taghavi on Iran International posted earlier shows this perfectly. People like him are still mad at TM players because they did not do anything overtly political in the last world cup in Qatar to support their political views. They called the players bisharaf back then and this time Rezaian called them out after the Japan match and told them we are not bisharaf. It is as if if the players go political and 100% support their political ideas and oppose IRI then a miracle happens and TM wins every game and trophy! When your 'football experts' and fans are this clueless you should not expect much success from these players and the teams they represent.
