Comments: Shahin I meant sponsorships. Its expensive traveling, lodging for weeks in Qatar. They must have world class sponsorships to afford this. They are not political so I was not implying a group is paying them.

Comments: رحیم قمیشی گریۀ پس از پیروزی، خیلی فرق میکند، با اشک شادی. من تجربهاش را بهخوبی دارم! پس از چند سال اسارت و مفقودی، وقتی که اکثر اعضای خانواده و دوستانم فکر میکردند شهید شدهام، برگشتم، اشک شادی نمیریختم، در عین شادی بهشدت میگریستم! آن گریه شاید حسرتی بود بر سالهایی که میشد کنار خانواده باشم و نبودم، شاید جوانیای بود که در جنگ و اسارت از من گرفته شده بود و حالا مثل میانسالها، شکسته، و برگشته بودم. من درک میکردم، اشک شوقِ آزادی نبود، گریههایی بود بر فرصتهای از دست رفتهام! یک بار جلوی زندان اوین، دختر جوانی را که آزاد شده بود دیدم، پرید در بغل پدرش، اولش میخندید، اما یک دقیقه نگذشت، هقهق گریهاش بود که بلند شد، طوری که همه جمع ما که آنجا بودیم را به گریه انداخت. اشک شادی نمیریخت! گریۀ پس از آزادی بود. چرا باید دختر ۱۸ ساله به جرم یک اعتراض ساده، به زندان برود و مانند یک مجرم و تبهکار، با آن روح لطیف و نازنین برخورد شود! امروز وقتی تیم ملی فوتبال ایران در دقیقه ۹۴ و در آخرین ثانیههای بازی گل برتری و صعودش را به ژاپن زد و سپس در سوت پایان بازی دمیده شد، بهجای ژاپنیها، این بازیکنان ایران بودند که بهشدت اشک میریختند و میگریستند. اشک شوق نمیریختند! گریه میکردند. علیرضا جهانبخش، سردار ازمون، کنعانیزادگان، امیرقلعهنوعی، محبی و بسیاری از بازیکنان صورت بر زمین گذارده، اشک میریختند و زار زار گریه میکردند!! وقتی دیدم بغض گلوی مرا هم گرفته و ناخواسته آمادۀ گریهام، متوجه شدم این گریه از همان جنس است... چقدر لحظههای شاد میتوانستیم داشته باشیم و از ما گرفتند! چقدر شادمانیها که میشد داشته باشیم و نگذاشتند. چه رقصها میتوانستیم بکنیم و نشد! چه ترانهها میشد بخوانیم و نخواندیم. چه جوانیها که از ما دریغ شد چه فریادهای "ایران" "ایران" را در گلویمان خفه کردند! چقدر خوشیهای نکرده، ما طلبکاریم. چقدر خندهها، که از ما دزدیده شد... گریه امروز ما فوتبالدوستان و فوتبالیستها، یک حسرت بزرگ بود از عمق جانمان؛ ما ملت شاد و امیدواری بوده و هستیم فقط سالهاست حاکمان ما نگذاشتهاند روزها و لحظههای شاد را که حق همه ماست تجربهشان کنیم...

Comments: I see two individuals in our football history who transformed and elevated our football to a different level. One was Zdravko Rajkov in 60s and 70s and then the recent one Carlos Queiroz. One poured the foundation and built the skeleton of the 1978 team. And the other did the same for 2014 WC and continued through 2018 and 2022. I do think after 2026 WC we need to rebuild again. I also think Mayeli Kohan also elevated our football in 96.
