دو روز پس از آن‌که چند تن از طلبه‌های بجنورد علیه انتشار عکس کُتلت در صفحه شخصی محمد شجاع، پزشک فوق تخصص قلب کودکان در این شهر، در مقابل دادسرای عمومی بجنورد تجمع کردند، رادیوفردا روز چهارشنبه، ۱۳ دی، از بازداشت این پزشک و استاد دانشگاه خبردار شد.

پیش از تجمع این طلبه‌ها، جواد ایلانی، دادستان بجنورد، نیز انتشار تصویر کتلت را «مصداق توهین به مقدسات» دانسته و گفته بود که «در صورت اثبات اتهام، اشد مجازات در انتظار متهم خواهد بود.»

در حالی که خبرگزاری تسنیم، نزدیک به سپاه، به نام این پزشک بازداشتی اشاره نکرده، رادیوفردا مطلع شد که محمد شجاع اواسط دی‌ماه توسط نیروهای اطلاعات سپاه پاسداران در منزلش واقع در شهر بجنورد بازداشت شده، اما از محل نگهداری او اطلاعی در دست نیست. همچنین صفحه شخصی اینستاگرام وی ضبط و از دسترس خارج شده است.

گفته می‌شود که این پزشک متخصص، پس از کشته شدن رضی موسوی، عضو سابقه‌دار سپاه پاسداران در سوریه، در اینستاگرام خود تصویری از غذای کتلت گذاشته و عبارت «در آپارتمان ما بوی کتلت پیچیده» را نوشته است.

• Iran has faced targeted killings and sabotage attacks suspected to have been carried out by Israel. However, those assaults did not include mass casualty bombings like Wednesday’s attack.

• Sunni extremist groups including the Islamic State group have conducted large-scale attacks in the past that killed civilians in Shiite-majority Iran.

"The United States was not involved in any way, and any suggestion to the contrary is ridiculous," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said of Wednesday's violence.

"We have no reason to believe that Israel was involved in this explosion," he said.

"We do express our sympathies to the victims and their loved ones who died in this horrific explosion," he said.

"It is in no one's interest -- not in the interest of any country in the region, not in the interest of any country in the world -- to see this conflict escalated any further than it already is," he said.

Miller declined to assess who carried out the attack in Iran.
