Sabeti series was certainly worth watching. It showed that reform was not really going to work at least at that point in our history. The change of US policy in post Vietnam war, although perhaps a good thing high level but certainly did the shah in.

As far as Sabeti personally, hich ki bedarde in kar nemikhord except himself as he tries to rewrite history. I think he was jaded as why he did not take over Savak. He was a mystery man to ordinary people but much disliked among everybody above and below him. He says that he kept going to hoveida, shah, etc. behind his superiors backs, which was more about him doing khar..K.. bazi than actually trying to do good if true.

As far as Shah, at the end he was sick, no energy and depressed and did not want to deal with the situation.

I am also surprised that more was not discussed about Shariati and his influence instead kept talking about confederation of Iranian students outside Iran. I know a lot about this group as they were nothing but bunch of rich, spoiled kids having a good time and living a care free life outside Iran like the 60s movement. They were no threat to anything.
