Comments: Shahin, it is just fascinating to hear stuff happening back then. Not facinated by Sabeti:). From dealing with opposition, treason, and terrorist groups to all the conflicts within. Nasiri - Mighaddam - Sabeti trio relationship and all. In between what he says you can tell that there are also lots of things he is not saying. But it is still enough and entertaining. The other side is when we look at the opposition. I mean lefties, members of groups with Marxist or communist ideas existed in the European world then. And even had slots in European congress. But their job was not about getting armed and necessary do gorilla work. In Iran the role of all these groups were kharbkari. And they saw themselves as roshanfekr. These guys were in darkness and actually if diagnosed now had severe mental issues like depression and other complicated things. Golesorkhi talking about Salman Farsi, Emam Hossein, Hazrat Ali, and then through these fiction individual reaching to Marxism. You rerun what he said then now, and you are just awed. These were Roshanfekrs? Like Bijan Jazani's books: نبرد با دیکتاتوری شاه - به مثابه عمده ترین دشمن خلق و ژاندارم امپریالیسم چگونه نبرد مسلحانه توده ای میشود دیکتاتوری بورژوازی کمپرادور You glance at these books now and then the first thing comes to mind is the word "Roshanfekr" again. Like WTF. These guys were just simply lost, delusional and I have no doubt brainwashed and instigated. The Sharif vaghefi story is also amazing. With Mojahedin having Islamic ideologies and with some members having Marxist ideaology, the Marxist guy kills and burns the body of Sharif Vaghefi... and the Marxist guy who did that was a roshanfekr fighting for freedom and " Azadi BayAn"?? Dude you just killed and burned a guy because of his ideology.
Comments: I agree Cyruss. He was one of the most destructive politicians in our lifetime. That's exactly how my only favorite American politician described Killinger.
Comments: I’m surprised that I don’t see much discussion on Kissinger, who passed away yesterday in the news outlets. One of the biggest war criminals of 20th century that went unpunished for his crimes against humanity. If you think Ghasem Kotlet was bad , for all atrocities he committed, multiply that by hundreds or thousands fold for killinger.

Comments: I wanted to know more about shariaati. There were stories that at some point he was portrayed as a Savak agent.
Comments: The Sabeti documentaries are indeed an eye opening window to what was going on. I just started the third part. I'm sure that it's all not true and it must have been to an extend sugar coded. We should take all the info with a grain of salt. Those TV interviews must have been fascinating to our parents. I wonder if you all remember them but I have no recollection of them since I had not reached teen years yet.
Comments: The story about Majid Sharif Vaghefi in daheh panjah is very interesting. I think that is when PaykAr group spun off from MEK.
Comments: Killinger just died
Comments: *commotion and not compassion
Comments: There had been several incidents of hate crimes based on mistaken identity here in the south land. Shortly after Sept 11 tragedy, there was one close to me that made it to the news. Back in the day, I had a satellite office in a remote neighborhood of La county , made up of mainly red necks with few minorities living in. There was a compassion a block away from my office. These rednecks followed a pickup truck in the freeway and started harassing the driver. The driver loses them , gets off freeway and goes home. Rednecks drive around , locate the pickup truck , jump the fence and beat up this poor Mexican guy to the point of hospitalization. Since then hate crime laws were enhanced, but never stopped the hate.

Comments: During hostage crisis, many Sikh Indians got beat up because their turbans was mistaken for Khomeini's amameh
Comments: Cyruss, funny story about your Mexican trash guy comment. Back in 1979 when I was in Oklahoma city and after the hostage crises things were really bad for us as Iranian students. So most of us started to look for a safer place due to the fact that OKC was a redneck town. I have Many stories about those times and I save you the headaches. I had a friend in deep south Texas and he kept telling me that it's a great place for Iranians because they all look like us besides the fact that they were warm and welcoming people similar to ourselves. I feel bad for that Mexican guy who was spitted on. |
