Comments: Farhad is harmless guy in his 60s. Don't take him seriously
Comments: Why does this guy like to escape his den so much? 5+ ids and aliases not enough to make him feel at home over there?
Comments: To advance Iran in the rankings, 74 games were probably the only games that team sports winners medals, were counted for each member. Winners water polo and football ( 22 golds counted) helped Iran to move up in the total count

Comments: Too much khalibandi. First and foremost, Aryamehr or Azadi was never 100 hezar nafari, let alone 120k. I recall thatOne of engineers in the design group, a family friend, will always state that at best the capacity would have been somewhere between 85-90 k seating compact. The only time that it may have come close to 100k, was the first derby after the disaster, wherein parviz mazloumi scored a header to defeat reds. And that is including those seated on the walls , field or climbing on Dakals. As Kamkar khan said, Israel was not as strong of their 68 squad. I think they advanced to the finals by playing only couple of games. There were no documented protests on this game, unlike 68 game when emotions were high a year after 6 day war. And from what I remember hearing a large group of attendees were members of armed forces and their families that were provided free tickets. A good contingent of Jewish residents of Tehran were also in attendance, surrounded with military families.
Comments: So looks like Al Etehad was awarded a 3-0 win against Sepahan. Sepahan also needs to play 3 matches away from home in addition to $200K fine. Jenazeh mashghassem ham talafat mideh
Comments: There is actually a wiki page for the football at that asain game https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_at_the_1974_Asian_Games
Comments: Farzad, yes very good point. I did not take that into consideration.
Comments: BTW, the reason that Israel made it to the final in the competition was that No Arab team wanted to play them. I recall that on the day when Arab teams were supposed to play Israel, They'd come to the field and bow to the crowd and then leave without playing. Kind of like what IRI does today.

Comments: ramin, we are only hearing the so called translation of israeilis talking. So that can be fabricated.
Comments: The only true images of the video were the B&W clip of the goal, Mansour Barzeghar speaking/bowing at the Microphone, and perhaps the stroytelling by the actual Isreal player. Else, the rest, were total fabrication of truth! First & foremost, there were not 120K people in the stadium. My uncle took us there with handful of his co-workers. There were plenty of empty seats around us throughout the game. Obviously, both the Isreal player and Khiabani are GHONDEH GOOZI & khalibandi! The former, tries to put himself on a pedestal in front of his friends, and the latter always into his fairy world of Hamaseh creation!!
Comments: I hope people on Social Media go after Khiabani to makes sure he hears how much of a lightweight journalist he is because he thinks he is the best. They should go after his integrity

Comments: That footage of goal is there actually (a glimpse of it at 3:55). But even in 1974 there were no protests. There was no Khomeini. There was no harassing of Israeli players.
