Comments: What I like about America is exactly why I complain. It used to be the best country for a young immigrant to come and make a living. I couldn’t be who I am in any other country. I was never felt outsider even I could barely speak the language and knew little about the culture. I’m complaining because it is much harder, if not impossible, to come here with couple of hundreds of dollars, get a job at a fast food restaurant, pay for college, rent, food and a basic healthcare. I like the fact that I can complain about the system without the fear that someone will show up in the middle of the night to arrest me. I like that I can travel just about anywhere without needing a visa. I like the college education one can get here. I do complain about the education before college. I like the fact that I can apply and get a job without anyone asking me, “where are you from”! There are many things to like here but there were even more when I first arrived. I complain and hope it gets better for the next young man from Iran who end up settling here.
Comments: Shahin I look at NEOM as a finish line to sunset my career. It is like retirement / part time job.

Comments: Shahin. Has nothing to do with Saudi. It is just the project is so fascinating. Couple friends of mine with IT expertise went there and they love it there. It is just the magnitude of the project. They get two weeks off every 75 days. You get four free round trip biz class tkt to go home. They have free air conditioned housing. Free food. And there is alcohol. You are not working in dust and sand 😂😂 this is office work. Have you seen the plan?
Comments: Farzad: I don't get your fascination with working on the Neom project. First of all it is fucking Saudi Arabia by default is fucked up when it comes to fun. Secondly its construction man, dust, sweat, etc. Living in storage containers. I rather wait and go there first class and stay in a nice hotel if it happens to become that interesting. Comments: Shahin rashti, real or not, I do not have an issue there. He simply does not know me Like you Bardia Gorbi HAMVATAN does and his tohin towards me really does not bother me. I don't respond his tohin, one because I know for sure he does not know me and two he is my hamshahri. So I keep the hormat. He is not one of the two mozdoors we all know of from that site. He just does not know us.
Comments: Zinsky: I don't think we are wasting our time. I think we are understanding each other better. By communicating with you I have learned that you are actually very nice and compassionate guy and your complaints are out of care. I also hope by communicating with us, unlike what the Rashti guy (which to me is not a real person until I know who he is) says, we are not gharb zadeh, nokar amrika va esraiel and have valid points to like to live here and stay here. Come on man, do less ghor and tell us what you enjoy living in this country
Comments: Zinsky, this is a serious question simply because you do not talk about the good of the system here. You meantioned "I see the issues and the good in the system." Great!. Can you share some of the good of the system with us. Can you list some of those elements? I really want to see what you see good here, whether I see it the same way.
Comments: Zinsky, I did not label you that, I said the way you talk about this country it is as if you are considering yourself as a second class citizen. Yesterday Shahin demonstrated ways to you that can help you reduce your healthcare expensse as oppose to you claiming it is now 3x more. Bardia listened to Shahin and is actually very thankful for it.
Comments: We can’t convince each other of what? Anyways, as I said whatever makes you happy. There are people who are happy here and who are not happy here. And because you are not happy here that does not make you Amrika Setiz. Same is true in Portugal, you find yourself happy there, you find yourself fit there, I feel the same about portugal and I think as an American Citizen both you and I will have a great life there. Comments: I think we are waisting our time. We are going back and forth on what seems like a totally different approach. I don’t feel like a second hand citizen, that is why I complain about America. As a full citizen, I expect more. I see the issues and the good in the system. That is why I have lived here for most of my life. I hope to see improvements in my country that I lived in for years. I have nothing about white, black, yellow or any other color people. I actually feel less of a citizen in Iran. I don’t have a voice there. Here, I do and I intend to use it with voting and getting involved. Let’s agree to disagree on who I am and what I feel. We can’t convince each other otherwise.
Comments: I read what I wrote again and cannot find any labels. Both Shahin and I did not use the Amrika Setiz term on you. I think Shahin thinks you are an ordinary "Complaining American" and I said maybe you find youself here as a stranger or "A second class citizen" and my point was you should not think like that if you do.
Comments: I did not label you with anything. All I said was I think the problem is that you come across as someone who finds himslef as second class citizen. And my point is NO, that you are not. And it is up to you. That's it.

I have been trying to have a conversation and never directly attacked you or your state of mind. You, on the other hand, labeled me and others as you wished. It’s me. I actually thought I’m having a civil conversation with someone who is educated and fair minded. You think you know me. You come up with various names/labels. You are just wrong. It’s ok! My bad. |
