Let’s start with the 19% of voters who responded “nobody.” As for the “nobody” retort, as you might expect, more Republicans (22%) gave this response, but 26% of independents did too. Independents are key to winning midterm and presidential elections as we just witnessed. This is fertile ground for a populist Democrat to fill this blank space among this important segment of the electorate. One data point to consider: four years ago, Donald Trump’s net favorability among independents was a whopping minus-22 (35% favorable to 57% unfavorable). Today, it is a negligible minus-5 (42% favorable to 47% unfavorable). This created a winning opportunity for the GOP in all seven swing states.

Comments: Saeed. Yeah. Falls church and all those place are swamp. Kind of like greater DC swampland. But in case you missed it, Majority of Americans voted Trump in 2024. In 2016 he got about 62 million votes. In 2020 he got additional 13 million votes at around 75 million breaking the record for any sitting president, and in 2024 he got even more votes from citizens of the United States @ 77 million and change. With Many democrats like me crossing the aisle. So we can see the trend and what direction this country is going when we look at the past 9 years. Future looks bright. Like any president including even the worst one in history GWB, at the end, elected president even though not my candidate is my president. Biden did some good but as a whole he failed and disappointed many of us Democrats. Why did he lose support of many fellow democrats, you have to ask the democrats. This is the first time since 2012 that a democrat president did not win the popular vote. Many democrats are just nauseated with what has been happening and that is why many crossing the aisle. I think DNC is going through self identification. Many understand what destroyed the party. Focus on Wokism, prioritizing and furnishing interests for Corporate Elites, affordability, and appetite for wars drifted myself and many of my fellow democrats from the camp. But thank god the trump admin with infiltration of many true democrats in his admin is a balanced and moderate administration. The proof is in the pudding so let's see what happens.
Comments: Saeed, you label the states as red and blue based on the number of their educated people. It's more like the urban areas of a state vs the country side. For example Texas is always red but all major cities vote blue. It's just that there are so many bisavad people in ranches and what have you. Those are the ones that Trump loves.
Comments: Farzad: You are making few mistakes. First, I am not from DC, but northern VA. VA used to be a toss up state between red and blue, but thanks to flow of large number of educated migrants to northern VA, it has turned into a solid blue state. Nearby Marland (state with highest educated people) have always been solid blue, like most of other highly educated states. If you think states with highest education level in this country are becoming out liers and red necks becoming norms, which I highly doubt, that is an alarming events. You are telling me that this nation is becoming a " fuck land"? But as usual, you are wrong on your analysis. Majority of americans are decent, and law abiding people. They can not be represented by people like Trump and Musk.
