Comments: Cyruss, for good or bad, that could have been us. There was a story about how Germany wanted to rebuild the country after their defeat in WW2. They aske Reza shah for work force but he turned them down because of his national pride. So they went to the Turks for mass migration and hard labor.
Comments: How times have changed. If in early 90s you claimed German roster would include 3 Turks , eyebrows would have been raised. The closest thing representation of massive population of migrant Turks in German football was mehmet scholl , who was born to a German mother and adopted by a German stepfather. Now Germany has 3 Turkish descent players ( that I know of) in their Euro 24 roster, including their captain, 2 of them have scored goals. #immigration 101
