Iran's Taremi officially joins Greece's Olympiacos from Inter

TEHRAN, Aug. 31 (MNA) – Inter Milan striker from Iran Mehdi Taremi has appeared in a photo album released on Sunday showing him officially signing contract and joining Greek giants Olympiacos.

Greek outlet To10 reported that Olympiacos will pay Inter a fee of around €2 million, Therefore, the transfer of Mehdi Taremi to Olympiacos will save Inter Milan €4.62 million in gross wages, local Italian sports media reported on Sunday.

The Iranian national football team striker, who left Tajikistan, where the Iranian team is for CAFA competitions, for Greece after coordinating with the team's head coach, told reporters, "I am very happy to have joined Olympiacos and I would like to meet the fans close up."

 

"I'm very happy to come to Olympiacos. We know that this is a great team. Olympiacos is a big team with a lot of passionate fans and I'm very happy to meet the fans."

 

ٌWhile in Athens, he will go undergo his medical tests and then be officially introduced to Olympiacos fans.

The Iranian only just joined Inter last summer. The Nerazzurri signed him on a free transfer after his contract with Porto expired.

 

However, Taremi never quite lived up to expectations at Inter.

در شرایطی در اردوی تیم ملی حضور دارد که آخرین مراحل عقد قرارداد خود با تیم فوتبال راپید وین را پشت سر می‌گذارد.

راپید پرافتخارترین باشگاه تاریخ فوتبال اتریش است که حتی موفق به کسب عنوان قهرمانی در فوتبال آلمان نیز شده و به همراه استریا، تنها باشگاه در فوتبال اتریش محسوب می‌شود که هرگز به دسته پایین‌تر سقوط نکرده است‌ آنها همچنین سابقه دو فینال جام برندگان جام اروپا را در سال ۱۹۸۵ و ۱۹۸۶ دارند.

در تابستان امسال صحبت‌هایی درباره حضور جهانبخش در گلاسکو رنجرز مطرح بود اما او در نهایت در اتریش به کار خود ادامه خواهد داد، در حالی که او در هفته‌های اخیر در کمپ تمرین فاینورد با هم‌بازیان سابقش به کار مشغول بوده است.

Olympiacos and Inter reach agreement for Taremi, final decision still pending

Thursday’s reports claim that Olympiacos have reached an agreement with Inter for the signing of centre-forward Mehdi Taremi, but the Iran international will take another 24 hours to make up his mind.

According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Olympiacos and Inter have an agreement on the clubs’ side of the deal, but Taremi’s final approval is still pending. The 33-year-old is expected to provide a response within the next 24 hours.

 

Meanwhile, Super League Greece rivals Panathinaikos and Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen are reportedly still interested in a deal for the former Porto striker. Neither of those clubs have submitted a formal offer as things stand, though.

Taremi is not part of new head coach Cristian Chivu’s plans for the coming season.

 

After scoring just one goal and providing three assists in Serie A last season, Inter have since strengthened with the arrival of Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma and are also expected to hand a bigger role to returning loanee Pio Esposito, who add to a well-established centre-forward pairing of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

 

Taremi, meanwhile, has largely trained individually for the majority of pre-season.
