Comments: Saied that is the same thing over again... I would not go with "his approval rating is low", "polls show he is going to lose", "he is self destructive", and.... so on... That is not going to work. It was proven thousand times. Everyone thought they had it in the bag when he said haitians eating cats and dogs but then again... the opposit happened.. The MAGA base is intact and has not moved and if anything gained in the past 9 years.
I do agree about a strong 3rd party... But this new party must have an agenda, a strong agenda which resonates with ordinary people like in Iowa, must have a doctrine, and must have the right players...perhaps new faces. By now evevryone is exposed... people know who has the Neocon agenda (war and only war), who has woke agenda, who is a MAGA, and who is an establishment dinasour. You also have to take into consideration that the Boomers are sunsetting and you have Millenials, Gen X, Gen Z, and gen alpha to deal with.
The right wing Republicans (in form of neoconservatives) like the likes of Dick Chenney, Victoria Nuland, Robert Kagan and Bill Kristol are pretty much gone. But you are right they find their way in and that's what happened in 2020 with Liz Cheney, ending up getting Medal of Freedom in 2024.
There are couple of right wing Neocons in Trump's cabinet too. Mike Waltz and Marco Rubio. But they are used mostly as deterence just like John Bolton had the role as Trump's NSA. Bolton's hawkish ideas went nowhere and he was eventually dismissed.
Anyways, I agree with a 3rd party seniario.. But at the same time keep in mind that the non-establishment party in charge now is also niether of those or maybe is a combination of both. That is how you end up with Hillary, Obama, and Biden endorsers like RFK, Elon, and Tulsi supporting the current admin. And that is how we saw the likes of Right Wing Cheney type republicans like Romney, Kagan, Kristol, and Cheney himself, endorsing the previous Democrat admin.
We are seeing a crisscross shift as witnessed in 50's.. All facinating and interesting historical stuff...

Comments: Farzad: I would not put too much thought on Democratic party and how they should change. I believe, result of Trump presidency will be self defeating. I predict economy will get much worse, inflation will be higher, unemployment will be much worse, and housing will also cool off. This is the best case scenario. The worst case can be a disaster. His approval rating is already down. It will go down much more. I also believe, he will lose the house in mi term for sure and possibly Senate. In 2028, democrats will not have major problem getting the power back. But emergence of a third party is needed. Group of centrists must get together and form a 3rd party; republicans without their right wings, and democrats without their left wings.

Comments: Saied. Everything is based on Cause and Effect.
What do you think DNC will need to do differently? what we know is:
- Name calling, creating fear, Hitler, sexist, dictator, racist, democracy in danger did not work in 2016, 2020, and 2024. What beat Trump in 2020 was Covid (fear).
- Having a Bernies Sanders saying all the right things, gobbling all the votes, but then sidelining him or having him force enorsing someone else (Hillary, or Biden) did not work.
- Ignoring issues and just promoting who to not vote for did not work.
- Cancelling, bashing, and ignoring fellow Libraterian or democrats like Tulsi Gabbard, Lindy Li, RFK Jr, Bill Maher, Chris Cuomo, ..... did not work.
With only 29% party approval nothing is going to materialize at best until 2032. How can Dem party re-identify itself away from party of corporate elites, party of wars, party of debts and expenses back to party of people and party of Middle Class. What do you think they should do, who do you think they should promote to get there.... AOC, Pete Butegeig, Bernie Sanders are not going to cut it.. Bernie's camp is now a third of what it used to be.
As fake and as corrup as Newsom is, honestly he is on the right track by talking to the likes of Bannon or other right wing figures... At least he is showing that name calling, cancelling, and bashing of those who think differently is not the way. People welcome these moves.

Comments: As a proud American, for the first time in my short life as a citizen, I am concerned for the future of this exceptional country. This country have gone through a lot in the process of becoming an undisputed super power of the globe. Not just due to its military might, but for becoming land of opportunity for masses around the world, its stand on human right and democracy. People in different corner of the world, from middle East, Africa, Europe and elsewhere looked up to United State of America as the last resort to look up to. But things are starting to crack, if not already done. No longer, USA seem to care about the world, since as they say, there are many problem inside the country. I am not denying problems domestically, but this is the wrong way to go about it. It can actually make things much worse domestically. How?
- Tariffs: USA was the original creator of global economy, or so called free trade which is the opposite of tariffs. It transformed the world and every country benefited from it, and very few that did not join, suffered. Pure and simple. Now, we have an admin in US, who says tariffs is good, but fail to provide any evidence. It is obvious that economists in US and around the world are not buying it. Global market fluctuation is a sign of that. Many countries are trying to work with USA, to change its stand on tariffs, but at the same time working together to form their own trade agreement. If USA isolate itself from the rest, it will be a game changer. USA become another Russia., but much worse.
- Countries around the world are trying to replace $ as the defacto standard of currency. I can not predict what would be the outcome for USA, but I know, it will not be pretty.
- One of the pillar of democracy has been independency of different branches of government; executive, judiciary, legislative and even federal reserve. This admin is trying to change that for the first time in history. Nobody can predict what would be impact to stock market, if this goes on. Some people predicts numbers such as 90% collapse
- This country is on a very shaky ground.

I happened to know one of his political idols, which likely played a big role in moving him to the leftist movement in Iran. He was a national champion in diving and a very good friend of mine. Unfortunately, he passed away more than 10 years ago. He used to live in Dallas, Texas, and I visited him regularly while I was in Texas (Austin, and Dallas). May he rest in peace.

Democratic strategist and pundit James Carville admonished Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and other progressives who have argued the Democratic Party needs radical change in order to beat Republicans in coming elections. “Bernie has run for president twice, he’s lost twice, AOC and her kind … they want to run against other Democrats,” Carville said during an appearance on Chris Cuomo’s NewsNation program “CUOMO” on Wednesday night. “They don’t want to run against Republicans. When you beat a Republican, come back and see me and I’ll be impressed.”

Comments: 1- Freedom of speech. Can government dictate what we can say?
Of course I believe in it. Unlike Europe where denying Holocaust is a crime. But I am ok with limitation on hate groups like KKK, NAZI and .... promoting Hatred. Also It was not right to take away that right during Covid. During Covid you could not express your opinion or question Covid or vaccination. You could have been jailed or cancelled.
—-so, government can’t force universities to kick out students who are against Israel! Good
2- Environmental Protection
Believe we should. But it is not new. Climate change since and including the ice age time has been around. African Sahara used to be all lush and green. Agree to deal with it. I also agree when the term changed from "Global warming" to "Climate Change". But we can't just have USA chip in for it while highly populated and top 5 economy like China and India to get away with it. Yes Mother Earth is sacred.
—- Pulling out of French climate agreement and remove any mention of climate from government websites is the best way to deal with this. Climate has changed during the earth’s history but we know for sure humans are causing massive damage to it. It’s not my problem is the best solution.
3- Accepting rule of law and obey court orders no matter whom
Not necessary, that is why there is an appeal court. But at the end after all the process (fair or unfair) that's the judgment. I also believe judges should be non political and non partisan with no bias. Can't have people like George Soros assign judges. He is a dangerous man with a destructive agenda.
—- President or anyone for that matter should follow the law. If Supreme Court which is mainly from Trump appointees says “do this”, he should do it, right?
4- Accept election results after due process.
Sure but you can certainly question it. That is your freedom of speech. Keep in mind it was SCOUS who elected GWB. Al Gore still believes he won Florida. Hillary still believes Trump did not win the election. But at the end just like Al Gore, Hillary, and Trump, no matter how much you try, you concede and move on, even thought it is their right (freedom of speech) to still talk about it and express their opinion.
—-All other former presidents publicly accepted the results. They might not be happy with the results and dragged it but none asked his/her supporters to fight like hell to take it back. No other president went after government officials who disagreed with him/her. Not the same, is it?
