Comments: I think northern Khorasan Is arguably the best reflective of melted dominant Iranian cultures. There are traces of Turkish and Kurdish influences mixed with the traditional Iranian elements. You put these three elements in a blender and northern khorasan music comes out.

Comments: Yes I do remember that show. I was always so impressed by the type of Azari dance that looked more like acrobatics. As a teenager I used to try to emulate that but it was so tough. Diversity is a strength not a weakness.
Comments: Farzad, Kamkar : That video clip is part of legendary opera “ arsheen mail Alan”, if I’m not mistaken. I believe the opera was procuded shortly before Bolshevik revolution in Baku by maestro hajibabayev.The first opera in the Middle East, or any Muslim populated country. More than a century after its production, the song remains one of the most popular folk songs of Azerbaijan. The clip May actually be of a later reproduction of the opera . Several movies were reproduced based on this Opera.

Comments: Indeed kAmAr, that is the first thing which came into my mind. As a matter of fact I remember this video vividly and used to watch it when I was a kid. If you recall we used to have this show called "Moosighi Mahali" and we used to see Lor singing, kurdish, Azeri, and even I remember Khorasani.
Comments: I forwarded that Turkish song/dance that Farzad posted to my Azari friends. I can't help how colorful our country is. So many different cultures/languages/dances/foods all meshed under one umbrella that s called Iran. I just wished that everyone saw that as a point of strength not divided like some stupid people make it sound like.
