Comments: I’m going to post this massage on both sites because it is a reflection of what we are doing to each other. 1st of all, virtual consultations are always incomplete and unrealistic. It’s not real. One can’t be sure who they are talking to. It’s easy to use different handles and hide behind a keyboard. We oversimplify the other’s opinions and label them based on few virtual conversations. Pro this, against that. It’s barely that simple. It’s almost impossible to detect people’s true feelings/likes/dislikes when having a in person conversation, it’s even more complicated when it’s done virtually. Most people don’t fall into a simple category. They might have different opinions but not necessarily disagreeing with each other. Just because someone likes beer and someone enjoys wine shouldn’t make them enemies. Unfortunately, these days, that is exactly what is happening. You either like what I like or you are this and that! Lastly, the word, especially America has changed drastically in the past 20+ years. Call it globalization or something else. We as humans have become much closer via various communication channels but much farther apart due to the same reasons. As citizens of our homeland or adopted land, we need to unite and voice our concerns in a civil manner but once again due to difficulties communicating, we only pick friends and enemies, no middle ground left. When talking about America, criticism of the current events is not about destroying the country. When talking about IRI, we can’t simply wish for it to disappear at all costs. I want a better America for my kids and grandkids. That doesn’t mean I hate America! I also want IRI replaced with a more democratic system but not by killing the people who live here, either by war or starvation. It’s crucial to respect others opinions even if you disagree with them. That is what makes a good conversation. Exchange ideas without fear of being labeled and attacked.
Comments: It’s ok Kamkar. He is a big boy should be able to handle it 😂
Comments: Shahin, there is no way in the world I would have replied to it. I'm telling you. Should have ignored.
Comments: Honest to God, today I have not yet read the other page till now. The reason I went there is what Shahin wrote about Gilan. I got curious. آقا چه خبره اونجا. غوقایی میکنه یارو.
Comments: Zinsky:
I will be going to Manhattan few times a year. One of these days I will take the train from Grand Central Station to Boston. I really want to meet you in person. May be I can time it with Farzad as his sons lives in Manhattan. It will clear up a lot of things ![]()
Comments: I am so excited going to Mexico City for the first time in two weeks

Comments: I know you can ☺️ Shahin, global trades is just one element of it. And that is not the issue and it's a good thing. Like any other concept or philosophy it derails and other things come in to play with it. If this was an ideal world of peace and no animosities then sure. But political landscape is unpredictable and dynamic. That's a good move by Biden.
Comments: قالیباف هملواط کرد
Comments: Farzad: I can argue with you on the globalism subject. My take is that we need to adjust to the new global world and don't do something that eventually leads to protectionism. A lot of the wealth that is being produced in US is due to mutual respect for global trade and interactions. Now there are things that should be done like Biden's Chip's Act to make sure we produce all the chips we need within US so we are not caught like we just did in the supply chain area and depending on Taiwan and eventually China for it
Comments: Zinsky well said about your expectations from America. We can easily open up a new chapter of discussion which is called Globalism but we have to go deep in it. Globalism is essentially what has turned US around. And there is a fight against it all over the world but foremost it had very negative impact on America. Globalism essentially trying to make USA an ordinary country. The land of opportunity you and I stepped on when we came here had USA totally separated and decoupled from this BS of globalism. They also tried and to some extent were successful in changing the meaning of Nationalism and the term Nationalist. Basically from a person's great love for their nation and someone who has sometimes fought for his or her country to an ideology that a person's nation is superior to all others. They try to exemplify it with Hitler. Anyways this is a long exhausting subject and so let's not continue. As KAmkAr said there is good / bad everywhere and nothing is 100% perfect. At the end you compromise and you chose the best package that suites you. For shahin is Santa Barbara, for you is Portugal. For me is a combination of bases in Iran USA and Portugal. Once again I am thankful and grateful for having the opportunity to make a choice. One should also be thankful of what they have as little as it is and the rest will fall in place. Life is a reflection of your thoughts.
Comments: I read Rashti's post. Here is the reason for the split within these two group:
We could not agree on the fact that mullah regime was an existential threat to Iran as a nation which was proved later on to be true by the unfolding of the events. One group believed America was the reason and did not want to hold mullahs accountable. This group was influenced by mullah regime sympathizers on the site that had financial and ideological reasons for their position to the point that could not and still cannot support any of the struggles of women who are demanding to remove their hejab and not get killed for protesting it

Comments: Honestly, I expected more from America. It was way above the rest. This is typical complaint when you don't know what is bothering you
Comments: I always wondered what the world would look like if America was just another liberal democracy like western Europe. I am not saying this with some pre-conceived agenda but genuinely curious. Don't look at 2023 but start with right after WWII |
