Comments: I had Japan and England in the final. Got 1/2 of it right!!! I think Spain is a better team than England but won’t bet on either one after watching few games. It is a toss up for me.
Comments: kAmkAr, Exactly. Sanctions are not sure thing. There must be a deadline & some sort of evaluation to determine if it is doing anything (working). It is obvious that USA and IRI are playing a game that keeps IRI alive and citizens in pain. Every time IRI runs really low on funds, America releases some of the frozen funds.
Comments: I wanted Australia to move on to the final game. I hope the Japs can kick the ugly British butt on Sunday.
Comments: Zinsky, I thought that subject was put to rest. To put my two cents in a nutshell, sanctions are a matter of hit and miss. It worked in South Africa and it didn't work in Cuba. Then again you gotta define what we mean by "worked". It didn't topple the communists in Cuba but look at the dire conditions they live in. The sanctions has had an impact on the lives of average José in Cuba for worse. But it had an impact on South Africa for better. It all depends on the political, economical, and cultural make up of each country. One main reason Iran's Molas have survived the sanctions is the ridiculous amount of money they produce from the oil sale.

Comments: Well said Cyrus. Liga MX is by far the most abusive league in the world in the sence that they play almost all year long. As soon as Apertura ends, the Clausura starts. Almost no break in between. It was designed to make the most money for the owners. That's why the injuries are very common in the league.
Comments: Impressed by Nashville and their number 10 , Mukhtar. I don’t think this leagues cup is a fair measure to gauge Mexican clubs. The draw and groupings were suspect and curious, as all Mexican giants were lumped with Western giants of the west, LAFC and Saunders in the western bracket.While inter and Messi had an easier path to advance. Tigre’s, club America and Leon. Could have been at this stage if they didn’t have to face each other and travel long distances. Regardless, interesting and exciting cup. Comments: What's interesting about the Leagues Cup is that all Mexican Teams games were away either in Canada or USA. Other games in USA and Canada the highest ranked team is the host.
