When we heard the word “alternative facts”, we should have known that we are entering a new era of lies. Previously, people argued what they believed was true. Now, it doesn’t have to be true just one’s version of it. No one can argue with alternative facts! They don’t exist in the wild!!!

A large scientific study was conducted few years back on brian, politics and beliefs. I read it a while back and it is spot on. It proves what we already know but might not like to accept.
Tips for talking politics
The new study is in line with prior research that also has showed how challenges to political beliefs are associated with emotional responses from the brain, said Drew Westen, a professor of psychology and psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta and author of "The Political Brain." He was not involved in the new study.
In order to effectively challenge someone's political views without triggering an emotional response, Westen said, your counterargument should do two things: solve the problem at the root of the political belief and address the values attached to the belief.
"The last thing to do is to try to argue someone out of a belief when they're strongly committed to it emotionally, because what makes it so strong is the emotion attached to it, not the facts or arguments that support it," Westen said.

You are right, many don’t know about them and the consequence of what they do.

Also America is not just SF. And the 80 million trump base are also not  just a “basket of deplorables“

Most people do not even know what a neocon is and I told you I think it is not as black and white what establishes what neocon is. Almost everybody agrees no more Iraq. Also many people say more Trump.

Meaning they will accept and tolerate neocons, Or they think world is a safer place in the hands of neocons than Trump? Like how it is now?

As I said the Iraq war was a monumental fuck up that everybody wants to move on from. I don’t know one person that says W was a great president.

I know what you mean.  Everything is done internationally for the benefit of America. And as you mentioned even the 3.8 billion aid to Israel.  yes Israel benefits from that but our benefit could be folds higher.

But I don’t think GWB and the gang achieved that. That war benefited special interests but not US as a nation.  It cost the tax payers trillions of dollars.

The issue is that the woke democrats (SF democrats) are also anti neocon liberals. That is why I think what you are advocating will lead to Trump.

No, complaining about woke and too much liberalism in today’s Democratic Party does not mean let’s go to the other side and let’s become anti abortion and anti immigration.  All they are asking is let’s not get too carried away and let’s not get ridiculous. You do need varying views in your party for progressing.  That exists both in Democratic and Republican Party. that’s a norm.

The Hawkish democrats of then were itching for interventions and war at the time the party became against it.

Maybe this will help folks here to be more forgiving towards RFK Jr. Thus is what he said about trump before 2016 election.

I think Donald Trump is Dangerous, and he’s deceptive, and he’s a demagogue. I don’t think it should surprise anybody to see how well he’s doing, because that kind of demagoguery is formulaic, and it’s easy. There are buttons that you can push, of bigotry and xenophobia and prejudice and anger and self-interest and nationalism—false patriotism. Look at what happened in 1972: a large percentage of the people who supported my father in 1968, a very idealistic campaign, switched to support not George McGovern but George Wallace in 1972, and what that illustrates [is] that every person, like every nation, has a lighter side and a darker side. The easy thing is to appeal to bigotry and anger and fear; and it’s much more difficult to appeal to our lighter angels, to get us to transcend our narrow self-interest and see ourselves as part of the community and inspire people to make sacrifices and take risks in their own lives, to contribute to the welfare of our nation, and to look beyond the horizon and try to compel our country to live up to her ideals, her great ideals. It’s much easier to see America as a place where you come to make a big pile for yourself and whoever buys the most stuff wins. That we have to fight off people who don’t look like us, or who don’t love like us, or whatever—who are different. And I think those are the dark angles that Donald Trump appeals to, and I very much hope that his campaign of hatred dies on the vine. It’s not surprising, because those are the passions that the Republican Party has been stirring—those kind of hatreds in the service, of course, of other interests. And Trump is actually coming out and saying the stuff that they’ve been saying cryptically for all those years with dog-whistle slogans.

Never mind! We could go round and round for days trying to figure out who said what.
My point is simple and no one needs to agree with me.
Neoconservatives were bunch of democrats like the ones who are around these days complaining about woke and too much liberalism in today’s Democratic Party. They pushed too much and realized they are not going change democratic principles so they moved towards republicans. Now they are just war loving groups who don’t need either D or R.
