Comments: I did mention that I am not as smart. Due to that, I still don’t know why pick or prefer any candidate (D or R) based on their views on international issues. They have no say. It’s been decided. Why even read about their views on that subject? Who cares?
Comments: KAmkAr couple of things about Soleimani: 1) Let's start with IRI shooting down the US drone. Trump was about to attack but then aborted the mission mid air 10 min before the strike. Pissed off Milley and Bolton. Why did he abort? Did not want Escalation. Did not want to engage in a war. There is always the question of "then what". 2) He did warn IRI, you kill one US citizen or a military person, you are fucked. A civilian got killed and 48 hours later, Ghassem became kotlet. 3) Soleimani although called a general, is not part of the official Islamic Republic of Iran Army which is under Geneva Convention protection. He is the head of a militia group called Quds force under no international protection. Had the strike happened to an actual Army general under Geneva protection, that would have be considered act of war. That is why Trump humbly came and announced Soleimani was fried under my direct order. Because according to international laws he did not do anything unlawful. Just like how Obama sent the troop and tomatoed Bin Ladin.
Comments: I believe that all American presidents/politicians are war mongers. Like someone said the other day here, Trump was different because he's not a politician. Also the system at the time didn't have any plans to start a war. But still we had Solaymani assassination in his time which in the eyes of some wasn't any less important than a war. We know how that ended. Iran attacks the America on their extended soil (Al Asad). America needs war as much as apple pie. Just think of the amount of armament and military personnel and military bases they have throughout the world. Certainly you have to put all that to a use. To be fair they do have the option of the carrot as well. If you don't accept their carrot and you don't bend over then the stick will be unleashed.
Comments: For the rest of your points. Yes they do proudly call themselves "Neoconservative". Nothing wrong with the term. In principal they don't give a crap about domestic stuff like healthcare and other stuff. Their main and only focus is foreign policy. But that does not mean they are the only foreign policy makers. Obama tried his best to fumigate them but they are back now. I am sure they are part of a bigger "think tanks" or in Farsi عاملان پشت پرده or what Trump calls "Deep State". So to your point when it comes to voting, most of the agenda presented to people during campaign are mostly domestic stuff. Like healthcare, education, abortion, Environment, immigration, and... And of course if in the middle of war there are campaigns for ending the war and returning troops back. So up to you. If your priority is mostly domestic affairs then sure you vote for a candidate who will address those. But if foreign affairs has higher interest and priority for you then you have to dig in. Because those are not discussed. Bush and Cheney never promoted that they are ready to go to war and they have major interventionist plans. For me World affair is more important because it affects all of us including our healthcare, environment, and education. For me war and displacing and killing of innocent people (1/2 million so far in Ukraine - Russia war) is more important than counting the number of death during Covid and blame it all on the president.
Comments: No Zinsky. Not quite. Neoconservatism is more of an ideology or movement. First started in 60s when the so called "liberal Hawks" became disappointed and fed up with the soft foreign policy of the Democratic Party and with the growing Left during Vietnam war. Neoconservatives agenda and philosophy supposedly promotion of democracy and interventionism globally. Just like how they promoted democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan. These Neoconservatives became political think thanks in the Republican presidential administrations of since Nixon, peaking in influence during the administration of GWB, when they played a major role in promoting and planning the 2003 invasion of Iraq. And now infested in Biden administration. Them being in this administration there are no arguments about it, but all of a sudden they became nice guys and liberal that's a different story. It is like 4 years from now Shahin claiming that circumstances changed and Trump has now changed and he is a very nice and liberal guy. 😂😀 Essentially neoconservatives are described as foreign policy makers and war hawks who support aggressive militarism. It is a doctrine / movement / ideology of some sort.
Comments: I’m not as smart as most people who talk about foreign policy. I’m just going to summarize what I have learned so far. Neocons are a group of individuals who control the foreign policies. They are not elected but appointed Presidents have little, if any control over them or the foreign policy They don’t call themselves neocons We, as voters/citizens have no say in what they do since we don’t elect them and people whom we elect have no say on foreign policies or neocons We still feel good about ourselves rejecting one candidate and supporting another one based on their history of being supportive of neocons even if they have no say in it!!! We can educate ourselves and know everything about neocons and named them one by one and ranked them based on how F-Up they are even though we can’t do shit about it!!! In summary, we can vote for or against someone based on their connections with neocons even if they have no real power in foreign affairs. I told you I’m not smart enough because I just got very confused and I know it doesn’t have to be this complicated!!!
Comments: Whatever happened to Massih Alinejad and Hamed Esmailioon? I know Alinejad always had a past IRI baggage. I know she was awarded $3M for reparation which did not come across too well. But after that I have not heard much from her. Esmailioon other than taking Iran to international court for PS752, I see no other activities.
Comments: When Russia fucks IRI, they do it khoshk khoshk Iran’s deal to purchase the long-desired Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets from Russia has unexpectedly fallen through. And they already paid for them.
Comments: Goaldoost and Zinsky. Portugal is still a good investment. Had friends who invested in Cyprus and Greece. Too many crooks in those countries. Portugal is a safer bit. My last trip to Iran I went to Hormuz island. It is still virgin and it is absolutely a magnificent island. Lots and lots of land available to build on. I am not your typical Kish island type of place and I think Hormuz has so much to offer nature wise. There are no cars in the island, except sepahi vehicles. I could walk with shorts on the island. (Men version of be Hejabi). Shahin, that is the place to have fish tacos and tequila. First thing I did when I got there was I got a bottle of tequila. Next thing I know, there were youngsters trying to sell weed and pipe to me. I am not disclosing if I purchased those too 😊 As Swedes say Sheck it out: I like rural places in iran. The real Iran. I do not waste time in Tehran or other big cities. One or two days in Tehran and then outta there. Don't even tell relatives I am in Iran and if I do I tell them I am coming to see Iran and not you guys.
Comments: Iranian women not in the Women World Cup is an American plot and due to sanctions. . . Ok. Just kidding. 😊
Comments: Ok Shahin, much better. I know you are not a typical Daei Jan Napelon guy. Your first instinct is not the typical “CIA did it”, or “it’s West’s fault” or Anyways, as I mentioned PBS had an episode on Neocons, just see the players and you will be Awed on WTF they are doing in my party administration. Trust me it is as odd and as strange as one day DNC putting Trump on the pedestal as their leading candidate. I know you cannot accept and you’ll find it weird. And that’s my point. It just does not make sense. Obama came to power to get rid of exactly those people but then now they are back in Biden’s backyard. That is why I question it. Ok, digging into Arash Azizi you told me about, seems astute, real and credible with no hidden agenda. I see his involvement at Stanford and Hoover institute. Not yet seen his riff with Abbas Milani. Comes across as a sharp guy. Again, these guys are credible and respectful because of what they do. They Research and dig into the documents. And then they connect the dots.
Comments: Goaldoost, As I mentioned, it is very difficult to remove an incumbent in a second term by a fellow from the same party. At least we can say it has not happened. The only way RFK jr can stir the pot is as an independent. Like Ross Perot did in 1992. So I really never saw any chance for RFK jr… Not sure, if you have seen this interview after RFK jr’s hearing. Everything you need to know about him with regards to vaccine, his ashkenazi comment, and Israel is covered here. The young lady interviewer is very impressive.
Comments: Yes Goaldoost
