Yeah you vote for what is important for you. If it is gun and you want to keep your gun you can vote either candidate because the law won't change, it is your constitutional right to bear an arm. If you want good healthcare vote Bernie Sanders, if you don't want someone named "trump" in the office for whatever reason vote the other guy. If you are pro war Biden should be on top of your list. If you like a homosexual President I am sure Butigeig is always available. If you care about environment, you vote Environmental activist RFK Jr. Or Hillary if you are a corporate democrat.

You have candidates for all walks of life who will suit your needs.

And then for those who freaked out and got shocked or surprised about Saudi or Israel doing business with China or Russia, this should put the issue to rest. It has always been like this.

“ for Biden to reform gun control with house and senate on his side.”
He never had majority. I’m not saying he would do it either way but with the way the senate and house was divided, there was no chance. He still pushed and passed a gun law that was not done for nearly 30 years.
Last year, President Biden signed into the law the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the most significant gun violence reduction legislation enacted in nearly 30 years. When celebrating the Act’s passage, he called on Congress to seize the bipartisan momentum and advance additional commonsense steps to reduce gun violence. Again and again, he has called for Congress to act, including by banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, requiring background checks for all gun sales, requiring safe storage of firearms, closing the dating violence restraining order loophole, and repealing gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability.

Yeah. As I said domestic stuff are always there to play with and keep ordinary citizens busy.

For example infrastructure policy of Donald Trump included ensuring U.S. energy independence, safeguarding the cybersecurity of the national power grid and other critical infrastructure or things such as Criminal justice reform which addresses structural issues in criminal justice systems such as racial profiling, police brutality, overcriminalization, mass incarceration, and recidivism. Or Obama's Obamacare was a great thing. Or the way many of my undocumented friends in the 80's who got green cards through Regan's amnesty when he granted amnesty to 3 million undocumented illegal status people. In contrast for example Obama rightfully deported the most illegal undocumented immigrants.

Those all I am ok with by both parties and at the end all of these become bipartisan because it does need the approval of some democrats and some republicans. I have witnessed it since Ford and every 4 years these issues above are debated.

Although there was a perfect opportunity for Biden to reform gun control with house and senate on his side. He just chose not to do it. And I can understand. Had he done it what will remain to debate on in the next election?

Domestic stuff I am totally ok with. We live in the West and regardless of the administration we possess high standards of living. But it is all up to the citizens. The system or the admins here, democrats or Republicans do not oppress the citizens like Russia China or IRI does. So it is indeed the land of opportunity and that is why I appreciate the western values and I am so thankful that my children were raised with these high standards and are both successful people.

My problem right now are the neocons and their way of foreign policy which is against some of my beliefs in a humanitarian terms when it comes to war, innocent people being displaced or desperate immigrants being drowned while getting to safe haven. And Biden as politician who never rejected a war and approved all in his 50+ years of career I am not a fan of.

As I said before, I love Biden for getting Trump out of the office. I voted for him just for that.
I was hoping he can do more but was realistic. I was also hoping for an other candidates in 2024. I was thinking Biden could retire from politics with his head high. 2nd term for him (if happens) will be worthless. He will not get majority in senate/house and basically fart and fall his way for 4 years.
Another Biden vs Trump election will be a disaster! I might just sit that one out… Who am I kidding? My desire not to see Trump back in the office is just too strong!

Score cards are easy to make and easy to compare. The hard part is to look at the overall picture.
For any president (specifically the past 25-30 years) to pass any laws and keep his promises during the campaign, he needs a good sized majority in Congress and even Supreme Court. Obama barely passed Obamacare even with super majority. Trump passed tax cut with similar numbers.
Biden passed the infrastructure package & the American rescue plan with much smaller majorities. Most other proposed policies were killed by senate/house and even Supreme Court!
This by no means is a defense for Biden or any other president. It’s the reality we live in. Compromise has become a dirty word. Nothing can move forward unless one side can force it down the throat of the other side.

About Biden and in general about any President the best way to evaluate them is to give score on what things they promised to do vs how many of those were achieved. As simple as that. Those report cards are available online.

I know the following maybe way over too much for some, but once we pass through the headline news and remove the first layer of veneer, we get exposed to certain details which are just jaw dropping.

I just never liked the Republican neocons (Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Nuland, and...). I did not even like Bolton in Trumps's admin. And thankfully he fired him. They are the worst thing that rooted and grew in the US politics and it started since GWB. And now they are in this admin. The two (Republican Neoconservatives and Democrats) should not have anything to do with another. One side are mass-murderers and the other side are suppose to bring peace in the world!!! (Honestly, it is like the anti imperialism MEK inviting Pence and Giuliani as speakers. Something does not make sense).

Blinkin-Nuland had a major role in creation of Bush doctrine and executing it. And now continuing to execute that under this admin in State Department. And then all of a sudden Democrat Neocons are kind of being formed. And by this virtue I think we are seeing once again the criss cross of the 50s and 60's of the two parties.

You cannot be, you cannot have, you cannot believe in Democratic values and yet be in bed with Neocons. Unless you don't believe in those values anymore. It is like, let's fuck everyone in support of virginity. And that is why we are seeing some of those who believe in those values parting from Biden. Hence, Biden's falling popularity since 1/20/21. We always talked about the division within the US political system (Dems and Reps) but now we are seeing a division within the Democratic Party.

But that goes to the fact Shahin made about continuity of foreign policy set by the establishment, and execution of that policy, admin by admin. I 100% agree with that fact. That is how USA foreign policy works. (Trump coming in as an Outsider distracted that and kind of altered that continuity temporarily for 4 years, but once again on track now). But my belief is that America cannot become the ultimate economic superpower some of us want to see through these wars. There are other ways. When we look at America of post Bill Clinton, it does not look as great.

As an analogy, I see Biden as Hasan Rouhani, as opposed to Ahmadinejad (GWB) within the neocon system. Yeki khoshk khoshk mikoneh yeki beh ghole rashtiha (Avvel vasineh baadan fooghayeh). I am sure Bardia and shahin can translate. 😀

And for those who do not understand the above and find the stuff way over their head, the rest of the stuff (healthcare, taxes, immigration, gun control, and...) will always remain unresolved as campaign subjects, for simple minds to masterbate with every 4 years. All throughout their life. Specially at the age we are at. Every 4 years we have to see who is going to give us the best healthcare. 🙂

I still don’t know exactly why people dislike Biden. Other than being old and falling on his face, what policies we don’t agree with? Is he rude to just about everyone? What about his personality bothers people?
I’m not a big fan of him myself but when compare to many presidents in the past 40 years, I don’t see why he would be at the bottom.
Reagan, Bush #2 and Trump for fucking The country and Clinton for anything that moved!

He was KAmkAr.

He was imprisoned both under the previous and current regime. But he left the idealogical world and became pajooheshgar of Iranian recent history as a scholar in Stanford. His book "tale of the two cities" is a nice book about himself. But the two masterpieces of his is "Hoveida, The Persian Sphinx" and "The Shah" which took years of research, and interviews validating the events and somewhat unbiased.

The key thing was him abandoning his ideological beliefs and pursuing fact finding research.
