Comments: I was hoping for another USA Mexico final but that's not happening. Mexico took care of business against Jamaica. This Jamaica team had the potential to win this title easily. Their problem is what TM had in 2006 world cup which was deep division within the team players. My son was telling me during the game that half of the team's players are born in England and the other half in Jamaica. That has become a huge source of conflict amongst them just like the split we saw among Daei and Karimi in 2006 and players from the two groups were not even passing the ball to each other.
Comments: For the current civil discussion that's going on, I have a bit of metaphor to share. I get fascinated watching the documentaries of air crashes. Experts keep emphasizing that in every single case there has to be multiple reasons going wrong for an airplane to go down. Some of which are pilot mistakes, weather conditions, airplane mechanical problems, etc... I strongly believe in both occasions of 32 and 57 we faced a perfect storm analogy for what happened in our country. I believe that Farzad and Zinsky are both right and the only difference is about the way every single individual sees and perceives important events such as Mordad 32 and Bahman 57. There were many factors involved. We can not blame one side and ignore the others.
Comments: You know after Russia claiming that the 3 islands of tombs and Abu Moosa belongs to Emirates, all chapi and lefties went to soorakh moosh without condemning the Russians. Amrika Setiz people also did not condemn what Russia did yesterday. They won’t even if you twist their arm.
Comments: Well put Shahin. I think once we shift our focus from shallow way of thinking associated with rumors, akse EmAm, and daei jan napelon mentality of thinking to actually documented sequence of events researched by credible movvarekhin like Abbas Milani, Touraj Atabaki, or Amir Taheri the reality becomes clear.
Comments: US lost to Panama on PK and are out of Gold Cup. This was really a C team and came up short

Comments: This report is hilarious. After burning a Quran last week, some guy asked Swedish authorities for a permit to burn a book. They asked him which one. He said I have 3 books. Bible Quran and Torah but I have not decided which book to burn yet 😀😀😀😀

Comments: I have little doubt that without 28 Mordad, we would have become Soviet proxies. Toodeh was taking us there. Now during Enghelab, I do not think that was the case and we were not going that way but America mis-calculated and did not want to risk it, thus was willing to tolerate Khomeini. But no question that the whole 28 Mordad episode left a bad taste in everyone's mouth. People still believed Mossadegh was done wrong
Comments: Bardia, What about Iran/Iraq war? D or R? How about Iraq and Afghanistan wars? No real difference between D&R when it comes to international politics.
Comments: Agreed. I remember many students studying in America were against Shah. I am not sure if they were lefties or socialists but anti dictatorship. Many others were complaining that Iran is not like America (freedom, good roads/train/planes, better this, better that). And of course, the religious people who couldn't handle the miniskirts and alcohol everywhere. Mulas hated shah and his father, specially, for taking away their power over people and government decisions. With all said, the west needed a change in Iran (for one reason or another) and started the fire and let the people burn the whole country down.
Comments: Many reasons!!! The main was many roshanfekrs were not happy under the shah. Of course Roshanfekr was defined as someone who was against America and the west, Left oriented, studied Marx and other socialist ideas, some pro Russia and China, and the ultimate, pro hezb toudeh. Those were our roshanfekrs. I was never introduced to a roshanfekr who was pro western values, pro modernization, and economically genius. Although they always appreciated and used the evil's modern gadgets.
Comments: You know better than that, accept it or not. The west doesn’t have to do all the work. There are always people who are unhappy. Don’t get me wrong, there were many reasons to be unhappy under shah. He wasn’t best for all. The west (or east, for that matter) just need to ignite the fire. Small push and let the rest do the job. It’s been done and revealed in many countries.
Comments: So US and West were the reason and politically nafahm, imaginary Roshanfekrs, and namak nashnas people had nothing to do with it. I don't think CIA painted Khomeini's face on the moon. And then on top of it people were awed "wow".... majority actually saw it....including roshanfekrs. |
