In US you have elections every 4 years with new administration (some times every 8 years). Also the micro politics within US congress also effects how the party that has the executive branch will react. I think the above people will insure that there is continuity in US global policy (right or wrong) and is not reset every 4 years other wise US will fall behind the competition

It is complicated, you have to connect lots of dots to come up with something that makes sense to you. But as you said it is about learning and it is fun. As fun as it is, we must admit that politics impact our everyday life. No matter where you live. Anyways, yes it is fun, it is not as black & white of a Headline News, it is very complicated. Comments: The only thing that gets my blood boiling is the regime in Iran and for one reason. Akhound took over one of the greatest civilization on earth so they have a responsibility for well being of our people. Sure there are geo politics in the region, sanctions, etc. but at the end they are responsible not the super powers
Comments: I look at politics differently. Democracy is messy and not perfect. It should not take someone with Ph.D to vote for a candidate. Just by the nature of our immigration to US from Iran, we have a much broader perspective on world politics and our expectations and desires for a perfect system are greater. However we have adapted to this system and have taken care of our families and future. I try not to feel guilty & bitter about everyday news but understand it but not let it get to me. I am interested in what is going on in the world be because I want to learn and it is fun

Comments: Goaldoost, once again enjoyed Maher's show, although I would have done less drinking. He has always been a liberal but not the kind jumping on headline news. Essentially he is saying that you can be a liberal or a democrat but yet question Covid, vaccine, and many non senses which goes in this country. Maher is heavily criticised by the extremists of left and the so called Woke people. Comments: kAmKAr khan, I’m totally with you. The whole superpower concept is flawed. No matter who is the SP, the rest of the world suffers. Some might be better than others but history has proven that stronger countries can’t take care of their own citizens and we expect them to care for the rest of us! And don’t get me started with Trump and his supporters! I just don’t get it! I can understand why you decided that voting is a waste of time. Even if one believes in democracy and accepts that every vote counts, there are just too many uninformed voters who don’t know what is good for them and vote based on stupid beliefs.
Comments: Zinsky, It's an outrage that this piece of crap is not in prison by now. Most of his associates are facing criminal charges and the head of snake is running to take the WH for the third time. The Best shit shows can be found only in America. Having said that I'm hoping that this raising power called China does not become a super power. My biggest beef with America has been their foreign policy and what they've done to our country to secure their own interest (which is their right to do so but does not mean I should like or accept it). But if China takes the role that America is playing now, the whole world will become slave to them.
