Soviet UK and USA were allies 80 years ago against Germany but then U.K. USA and Germany became allied against Soviet / Russia after WWII. We dropped atomic bombs on Japan killing 140,000 in Hiroshima and 80,000 in Nagasaki. A country named Japan which attacked the USA and prompted USA to enter the war. Number one enemy of the United States 85 years ago and now one of the closest allies of the United States. The world will keep evolving.

Not only that, it seems like our generation has already witnessed too many histories in making. I might have forgotten some in between but like it was said here today we're seeing the US alignment with Russia and Putin. It started with the push of NATO to turn Ukraine and the result was the invasion. Our generation has a couple of more decades left. What else are we going to see!

It is the right of their people to enjoy a free prosperous economy and peace. We did not push them (although are happy), it was natural and inevitable. After the German unification United states / Europe / NATO / and Soviet had an agreement not to move NATO east. Even though that was the deal, The eastern bloc countries like Poland and Romania joined NATO regardless, specially since the Soviet was falling. Even after the fall of Soviet, some of the former soviet republics like Latvia, Estonia and Luthania joined NATO. They are bordered with Russia. Russia was not happy... And West pushed more ... Russia got to a point and agreed ok, all these vountries are ok but not Ukraine. Why not Ukraine? Becaus in Russian history both in WWI and WWII Russia was attacked through the flat land and flat border of Ukraine. That is a security issue for Russia.
