Comments: I have been reading about the "Replacement Rate" or the "Total Fertility Rate (TFR)", how it is important and what the concern is. I recommend everyone to read about it and uderstant the significance of it. A birth rate of 2.1, or the Total Fertility Rate (TFR) of 2.1, is considered the "replacement level" for a population to sustain itself, meaning that, barring any migration and other factors, births are expected to roughly equal deaths. This means that, on average, a woman would need to have 2.1 children to replace herself and her partner, thus maintaining a stable population size. Dig in to it... Fascinating stuff ![]() Here's a more detailed explanation:
Many countries aim to maintain a TFR around 2.1 to ensure a stable population and mitigate demographic challenges.
Comments: Saeed, the things I post is not neccessary what I advocate or in agreement, they are just interesting articles with various views and very educational. About strong or weak dollar just in general even for our business it makes a difference. In business terms strong Dollar is a headwind, but is great for going to abroad for vacation. Weak vs Strong dollar: Business transaction by a US company: You make a deal to sell 1000 motorcycles to a european country for 1,000,000 euros. Condition 1: With each euro the buyer can buy 1 dollar, Conversion 1:1. You will receive 1,000,000 dollars. Condition 2: Dollar is strong and it goes up and now for each euro the buyer buys dollar for 90 cents. 1,000,000 euros times 90 cents is 900,000. And that is what you will receive, $900,000. You receive less. Now Vacation: You buy a bottle of wine in europe Condition 1: Last year you went to europe when Euro was one dollar. The price of the bottle of wine was 100 Euro and you paid $100 for it. Condition 2: You go to Europe and now Dollar is strong and each Euro is 90 cents. The price of the bottle of wine was 100 Euro and this time you paid $90 for it. You pay less.
Comments: What is the main problem with Trump? Why all my predictions about market, housing, employment and inflation is being felt only after less than 2 months. Republicans are no dummy on economic matters. In fact, they have been more business friendly than democrats. So why under this guy, they are fucking the economy on all sides? It is mainly due to Trump character ( dictator), he is making the call on all matters, weather he knows any thing about or not. If he did, I guarantee, nobody would have had to talk so much nonsense about tarrifs, etc.... He puts people under enormous pressure to justify shits they do not believe in. Like our own Farzad, talking about benefits of US dollar devaluation. Babam jaan, US manufacturing has been dead long time ago. US economy is mostly about service sector. Nobody buys US shits, even it is dead cheap. And those stuff that US sells, it is not that price sensetive.

Comments: Why Does Donald Trump Want A Weaker US Dollar?https://www.economist.com/finance-and-economics/2025/03/09/does-trump-really-want-a-weaker-dollarSo said Donald Trump in a recent interview, reflecting the conventional wisdom in the United States that a strong dollar and weak yuan is destroying the US manufacturing industry. Trump is correct to point to a strong dollar as one of the causes of US manufacturing becoming increasingly less competitive. The historic strength of the dollar – the ICE US dollar index, a leading global benchmark tracking the value of the greenback internationally, has soared nearly 13% since July 2021 – is responsible for making American goods much more expensive on global markets. It is also bad for multinational companies which earn profits in foreign currencies abroad as it becomes more expensive for them to convert their foreign profits into dollars.

Comments: Farzad, I’m at “Dar sat heh roosta haa” level. My cousin is like your friend really into it and really good. One time staying at a hotel in San Francisco he went down to the pool room there and called me to come witness what was happening. Apparently there was a midget conference at the hotel and they were playing pool there. At first it seemed funny but the Physics part you mentioned kicked in from their level of advantage and I was in Awe. Something unique about our generation is interest in soccer, foosball, table tennis and pool. |
