Farzad: What would be manufactured in Canda and US is not my call, as I do not have any clue, and neither you or Trump.  It is the job of companies, that is called Capitalism 101. It is the job of car manufacturer to make their cars most competitive to maximize their profits and hence the value of their company.  That is how you grow the capital, again capitalism 101.  This is like Mullahs in Iran, trying to dictate everything without having a clue about anything.  Globalism is paving the way to make products in a most efficient manner (where to buy parts and where to make them) and open it to the largest market. Again CAPITALISM 101.  Nothing else works.

Is also a result of globalism. I know everyone is worried about Iran's nukes. But U.K. is the only Muslim country in Europe possessing nuclear bomb.

Globalism /with fare trades is essential to global existence. No one argues that. But manufacturing American cars in Canada instead of Detroit is something which makes you scratch your head. Like why? Is t it bad for Detroit economy?

Putin Agrees in Principle to Trump Admin Proposal for Ukraine Ceasefire

  • Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday said Russia agrees in principle with the U.S.-led ceasefire plan backed by Ukraine earlier this week, but stopped short of signing up to any deal, arguing that it needed further negotiation and must lead to "enduring peace."

  • "We are in favor of it but there are nuances," Putin said when asked about the 30-day ceasefire deal brokered by the White House.

I do not think anyone here know about what was going on in USA pre globalism, which was brought by Nixon, and expanded during Regan era. Nixon in my opinion was one of smartest presidents in US history.  Anyway, what I am trying to say is, Western world and China were the main beneficiary of globalism. It changed the fabrics of society everywhere. It would be a suicide if someone try to take us back to those era.  Technology change would be the first barriers.  Nobody can know what would be like if someone attempt to do that.  For sure, US will no longer be a super power. Will a group of countries make a pact? Imagine, China, Europe, Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea and India attempt to keep or even expand globalism.  In that case, US will be indeed be fucked.  The richest country on earth will turn into an isolated island eating corns for lunch and dinner. Capital and intellectual assets will be drained.  This is what people fear the most about Trump and his allies.

After decades of don't eat saturated fat, eat seed oil, or olive oil or plant based butter, now Ghee, Beef Tallow, pure butter, or our own roghan Nabati is considered the healthiest

Ghee (clarified butter) and tallow (animal fat, often beef) are both high-heat cooking fats, but ghee, a dairy product, has a buttery, slightly nutty flavor, while tallow has a more neutral, savory taste, making them suitable for different culinary applications.

Here's a more detailed comparison:

Ghee:
  • Origin: Made by simmering butter to remove water and milk solids, resulting in a pure fat with a rich, nutty flavor.

  • Texture: Liquid at room temperature but solidifies when cooled.

  • Flavor: Rich, buttery, with a slightly nutty and caramel-like flavor.

  • Uses: Commonly used in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisines for cooking, flavoring, and baking.

  • Smoke Point: High, making it suitable for high-temperature cooking.

  • Lactose: Ghee is naturally lower in lactose than butter because the milk solids are removed during the clarification process.

I actually commend Newsom for reaching out to his complete 180 degrees opposition. This is what America needs. And he is on a right track to attract independent and democrats on the fence. He just needs to prove that this is not just a Hollywood stunt.

“I want to apologize to the American people. I spent 20 years of my life in the US, in New Jersey, in Chicago. I love the American people,” Ford said. “I absolutely love them … Secretary Lutnick and President Trump are brilliant businesspeople. They are hard negotiators. We need to put this behind us and move forward and build the two strongest countries in the world.”

I have been reading about the "Replacement Rate" or the "Total Fertility Rate (TFR)", how it is important and what the concern is. I recommend everyone to read about it and uderstant the significance of it.

A birth rate of 2.1, or the Total Fertility Rate (TFR) of 2.1, is considered the "replacement level" for a population to sustain itself, meaning that, barring any migration and other factors, births are expected to roughly equal deaths. This means that, on average, a woman would need to have 2.1 children to replace herself and her partner, thus maintaining a stable population size. Dig in to it... Fascinating stuff[smile]

Here's a more detailed explanation:
  • What it means:
A TFR of 2.1 signifies that, on average, each woman will have enough children to replace herself and her partner.

  • Why 2.1?
The 2.1 figure is a bit higher than 2.0 because it accounts for factors such as infant and child mortality, as not all newborns will live to adulthood to reproduce.

  • The impact of below-replacement fertility:
If the TFR falls below 2.1, the population will eventually decline, meaning there are fewer births than deaths, and a shrinking workforce.

  • The impact of above-replacement fertility:
If the TFR is above 2.1, the population will grow.

  • Examples:
    • Many developed countries, including Japan, are struggling to maintain a birth rate of 2.1.

    • In 2021, many countries had fertility rates both above and below the 2.1 replacement level, according to estimates from the UN World Population Prospects.

    • The total fertility rate varied significantly across the globe, ranging from a low of 0.84 in South Korea to 7.0 in Niger in 2020.

  • Migration's role:
It's also important to note that even if a country has a below-replacement fertility rate, its population can still grow due to immigration or increased life expectancy.

Many countries aim to maintain a TFR around 2.1 to ensure a stable population and mitigate demographic challenges.
