Yes RFK Jr is not anti vaccine and I take his word for it but for some reasons he has a big following in the anti vax movement and he likes to cater to them for attention. Of course that is my opinion

One thing I have been noticing lately when someone is sick (flu like), the question people ask is "Are you sure it's not Covid". Almost in a frightening way. Covid right now through vaccination and contracting the disease is almost at herd immunity state and is actually weaker than influenza or other types of flu. But the fear of the word "Covid" exists.

 

I never took a flu vaccine and not because I had anything against vaccines, I did not take it because the flu vaccine you get this year is for the disease which was spreading last year. The flu you get this year is most likely new and may not help much. But that is me and my rationale and just like Stocks I do not recommend or dissuade anyone from doing it or not doing it.

I actually got all the three diseases which is in the MMR vaccine. I had Measles or Sorkhak in Farsi, Mumps or oryon in Farsi and Rubella or Sorkhejeh in Farsi. But had to get the vaccines regardless for attending high schools here.

 

 

 

I think Rasht being in a humid rainy area created lots of issues in terms of bacteria growth and molds. Rheumatism and Malaria were essentially the number one disease in gilan.

 

 

 

I am not a vaccine expert but very interested on the subject because of my related area of work (drugs and medical device development) and growing up in a pharmacy environment. Except Covid, which was developed under Trumps Warp-Speed initiative and did not go through the standard Safety and efficacy at the time of launch, most of the older vaccines developed have gone through the safety and efficacy. Mostly for long terms studies, large scale phase 3, or challenge studies.

 

 

 

Continuous monitoring of vaccines together with long term studies is a key. And that is the exact reason a drug is recalled 20 years after they were approved for safety and efficacy. Most vaccine recalls have been mostly due to contamination of lots and all but I think swine Flu vaccine had to be recalled due to causing a neural disorder.

 

Bottom line is and has been that you need to evaluate the risk over reward ratio of everything. For example chicken pox vaccine came out around the same time as my kids were small. I remember myself and all my siblings catching chicken pox when we were kids. We survived it with no issues, and since the vaccine was new I decided not to have it for my kids. You also have to get the vaccine every 11 years I was told. The real truth is that some of these vaccines may have adverse effects on 3-5 % of the population and they are the unlucky ones. That is just plain painful reality. Everyone responds differently.

 

RFK Jr is not against vaccines. RFK Jr wants to make sure that vaccines also go through the same rigorous safety and efficacy test as pharmaceutical drugs. And that's fair.

 

Lastly, what does not kill you makes you stronger.
