Comments: In this case, I guess they couldn’t fly the planes to induce artificial rain.
Comments: Farzad, I agree that price tag should be much higher. Perhaps that 50 billion is only structural damage of two communities.
Comments: Rooting for Sarkisian and his longhorns. They'll come on top.
Comments: So when do you use this? before, during, after, regularly during the year?
Comments:
Comments: I was wondering, why wasn’t man induced rain technology used? Could it have helped minimizing the damage?
Comments: At this point blame does not do anything. If they are going to investigate mishaps and negligence it can be done in parallel. Also keep in mind that many shark lawyers, celebrities, and influencers live in Palisades. These people are not easy to satisfy. Which should help Altadena. They are a very special community. Special in a sense that that's how they see themselves. Maybe even higher than Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and Malibu. Many are also been living there long. There are like 90 year old houses there with original family ownerships. But yeah the priority should be advancement of technologies and rebuild. I think the latter with these high power residents will not be easy. I do believe that insurances will not cuff up the dollars and this has to be a Federal load. Elon should look into some kind of a ballistic missile capable of carrying heavy load of condensed moisture, blast it 100 yards above the fire, creat a mushroom cloud above the fire and let the moisture just dump like rain. So easy to achieve with technologies on hand. ☺️ 🍺
Comments: Yes Farzad:
Oakland Hills was not as big. Paradise was closer but also less. You should look at how they rebuild San Francisco after 1906 EQ. Its amazing with 5-10 years the city was back. There was a sense of rolling up your sleeves and do it vs pointing balme
Comments: Cyruss add another 0 to that 50 billion. This is way way over $50 billion. Each house just on the beech is like 10-20 million. And that is just the appraised value of the houses. The contents in theses houses are also way too valuable. Just imagine houses, urgent cares and medical buildings with lots of expensive equipments, banks vaults Shahin this is vaster than Oakland hills. Palisades fire is much vaster than the Caldecott Tunnel fire . Over 20,000 acres burned so far and another 11,000 in Altadena. Oakland hills cost was 1.5 billion. This one will be like 100 x that. This town is like 3 miles by 5 miles, all gone. I was thinking how are they going to rebuild all of this. The whole town is gone. And I am not talking about the cost of rebuild I am talking about logistics and all? How about people who have houses which stood. In the middle of all these rubbles. How / when are they going to live there. Insurance companies will declare bankruptcy and all of these have to be handled and managed by federal government. Ok Texas vs Ohio State coming up. Go Texas.
Comments: Flying fire fighting planes and choppers was impossible in the first days of fire rage. As soon as winds died down, they started doing it. So did some people, flying drones. Yesterday a drone hit one of the fire fighting planes in Malibu, damaging a wing. Flying drones during active fires is punishable by law.
Comments: Current estimate of damages in LA fires: 50 billion dollars About few years of aid and arms to Israel

Comments: People should be angry as they were in Oakland and Paradise. Paradise is actually is all forgotten more than Oakland. There were 13000 structures and around 85 lives lost all lower and middle class but they have been slowly rebuilding. PP will most likely be like Oakland Hills, land is valuable and will become even more exclusive when they rebuild. We need a change in attitude about prevention. Need to get serious about climate change, pass sensible funding for both prevention and rebuilding. It is not democratic and Republican thing. Texas, Louisiana and Florida go all through this as red states. It is very hard to get all this done, when you have divided government when everything is voted along party lines in government
Comments: Saeed. It is not political if it is coming out of ordinary people. Palisades and west side of LA are like easily 75% liberal democrats. People are angry. When the headline news days before Tuesday was “deadly wind to hit Los Angeles” and Los Angeles and specially that area being a fire zone, authorities had to be prepared. Fires are our everyday life here and we prepare for it. Your mayor should not be in Ganna when deadly wind is hitting us. Fire hydrants were empty or ran out of water. People are very angry. Comments: For those who are not familiar with Pacific Palisades. Everything you see is gone. https://youtu.be/mf8Z1kjCUWg?si=VR_bntnMrmZFvB55 |
