Comments: I think what you are going to see is that message boards like this and other blog sites can easily publish their stuff and move their users to BlueSky. Also if BlueSky goes the wrong way, they can take & move all the users with them. Just imagine if this happened when Musk wanted to buy Twitter, it would have been real easy to reduce the number of Twitter subscribers by a ton and devalue Twitter very quickly

Comments: Anyway I hope it answers it. There are many bloggers out there on different platforms. If the platforms are all built to be interoperable, then these bloggers can choose the algorithm they want and reach the people they want on BluSky
Comments: As far as who owns it, its CEO is Jay Graber who is the owner in addition to the employees of the company. The company is what is called a Benefit Corporation which makes it for profit but money will be spent on social causes which then obviously makes a liberal organization. With Musk taking over and messing around with algorithms, many liberals have quit X and moved to BlueSky. As of now about 20 million have joined and as more people get onboard so you can have the same followers as X, it has the potential to really compete
Comments: Cyruss: BlueSky actually came out of Twitter and is Jack Dorsey's idea prior to Musk acquiring Twitter. Twitter was and more now is a closed proprietary social media platform. Dorsey wanted to build a platform which was open & open source so that many social media sites start adopting and can easily be interoperable with each other. His vision was to eventually have Twitter be a client of this system. There is a concept of starter pack that you can create and provide to other users to follow certain group of people. The idea is also lets say you can easily move or have your Telegram & WhatsApp users to follow you on BlueSky. Obviously it requires these platforms to adapt open source technologies
