Although Soleimani’s fame is on his role as Sepah Ghods commander and the misery he inflicted on many lives, but he also had some history before being appointed to that role.

 

I forgot what I exactly wrote previously, since I mostly write off my memory.

 

A young Soleimani was employee of utility service in Kerman before he went on an assignment to the fronts on a temporary basis that became permanent. After returning from the front, he was put in charge of a unit based in Kerman and in charge of South East. This opened various doors of opportunity. After the cruelty shown on drug traffickers, they were convinced that partnering with him would be beneficial. He built his fortune ( all in the name of family members), as well as finding a lucrative way to finance various other activities, specially after he became Sepah Qods commander.

 

He was the first commanding officer of pasdaran that started openly middling with politics, both internal and external.

 

Domestically, he had a role in the epidemic drug use in the country.

 

During first Azarbaijan Armenia war , when Rafsanjani and his group were mediating a peace treaty that could have avoided misery for years to come, while the Iranian group was conducting negotiations in the field, he supplied and supported an ambush by Armenian separatists for a quick ambush and take over of azari territory beyond Qarabakh. This resulted in many casualties, destruction of land and villages, and over 800 k refugees that were forced out of their region for 30 years until the land was taken back couple years ago.

 

Soleimani and his drug cartel allies , now could use the barren land under control of Armenian rebels, as their drug routes towards Russia and Europe. Allegedly arms were also smuggled without control in both directions.

 

This is one of his non Mideast operations. Misery to almost a million on both sides, for his financial and terrorist goals.

 

His first open entrance in the face of IRI politics was the unofficial declaration of Pasdars s entry to the political system.

 

نخستین بار که نام او در سیاست مطرح شد، دو سال پس از فرماندهی‌اش در نیروی قدس و همزمان با رخدادهای ۱۸ تیر ۱۳۷۸ بود که همراه با ۲۳ فرمانده دیگر سپاهی نامه‌ای اعتراض‌آمیز با لحنی تند به محمد خاتمی، رئیس جمهور وقت نوشت.

 

امضاکنندگان که عموما فرماندهان همرده‌ای بودند که در دوران جنگ فرماندهی لشکر و در دو سه مورد فرماندهی قرارگاه را برعهده داشتند در این نامه نوشتند که "کاسه صبرشان به پایان رسیده و تحمل بیش از آن را در صورت عدم رسیدگی بر خود جایز" نمی‌دانند.

 

بسیاری این نامه را اعلام حضور صریح سپاه در امور سیاسی و در دخالت برشمردند، روندی که به گفته منتقدان، در انتخابات ریاست جمهوری ۱۳۸۸ به اوج رسید.

 

امضاکنندگان هر کدام در سال‌های بعد سرنوشتی متفاوت پیدا کردند، تعدادی کشته شدند، تعدادی به بالاترین مناصب نظامی در جمهوری اسلامی رسیدند و تعدادی وارد عرصه سیاست شدند.

 

در این میان قاسم سلیمانی همان شغل خود را حفظ کرد و فقط با افزایش نفوذ و اهمیت نیروی قدس در سال ۱۳۸۹ به درجه سرلشکری رسید که بالاترین درجه در جمهوری اسلامی است که به یک نظامی در قید حیات داده می‎شود.

 

او برخلاف بسیاری دیگر از همرزمانش، کمتر وارد درگیری‌های سیاسی-جناحی می‌شد و اظهارنظرها و موضع‌گیری سیاسی‌اش را به حداقل می‌رساند. به طوریکه در جریان اعتراضات پس از انتخابات ریاست جمهوری ۱۳۸۸، نام او در بین امضا‌کنندگان نامه اعتراض‌آمیز به حسین علایی، نخستین فرمانده نیروی دریایی سپاه دیده نمی‌شد

 

 

What he started by authoring that warning letter, eventually resulted in the country ending up in Ahmadi Nejad, and all the disasters ensued because of. He accelerated control of dictatorship, political suppression, unjust imprisonment and executions and international isolation.

 

There is more about him, particularly about harsh punishments given to the lower level drug related offenders in the south east of Iran while in bed with the major drug lords.

 

Other talked about issues of him is the wealth that he left for his family

I was talking to family members back home. I was curious to know if they are happy because they see a brighter future for Iran after the death of Raisi. Most gave me an answer that surprised me but even more, opened my mind.

 

They were celebration just to celebrate for the moment. They hated the guy and were happy he was gone. No one said anything about the future. They didn't know what will happen but wanted this moment (now) to celebrate.

 

I have been too occupied with what could happen next and totally forgot that joy could be for one thing that is happening now. We don't always have to worry about the future and let that ruin the present!

 

Good for them. If this is making them happy, let it. We can't predict/worry about what comes next!
