some  still think iran is under sanctions. And not a penny goes to people.  During Trump when the oil got sanctioned dollar was hovering around 20K Tomans. Now above 60KT.

Why Won’t Biden Enforce Sanctions Against Iranian Oil?

His reversal of Trump’s policy has fed the Islamic Republic’s campaign of terror against the U.S.

Iran’s oil exports hit a six-year high last month. In a normal country, this wouldn’t be news. But the Islamic Republic isn’t a normal country.

They're doing a haraji on carpets just like they did to oil on tankers in the middle of the sea.

A few years ago when I did Naeen and Kashan collected some nice silk pieces at the fraction of the prices. I bought the rugs from the weavers directly. Now I am sure it is even more of a bargain.

Iran’s unravelling carpet sales

Sanctions and a hobbled economy pull the rug out from under Iran’s traditional carpet weavers

The historic Kashan bazaar in central Iran once sat on a major caravan route, its silk carpets known the world over. But for the weavers trying to sell their rugs under its ancient arches, their world has only unravelled since the collapse of Iran’s nuclear deal with world powers and wider tensions with the West.
Carpet exports, which exceeded $2bn two decades ago, have plummeted to less than $50m in the last year, according to government customs figures. With fewer tourists and increasing difficulties in making international transactions, Iranian rugs are going unsold as some weavers work for as little as $4 a day.

Iran charges journalists after BBC report on teen protester's death

Iran's judiciary has filed charges against "a number of journalists and activists" after the publication of a BBC report alleging men working for the security forces sexually assaulted and killed a 16-year-old protester.

The judiciary-run Mizan news agency described the BBC Eye investigation into Nika Shakarami's death in 2022 as "fake, incorrect and full of mistakes".
It did not identify the individuals summoned for allegedly "disrupting the psychological security of society".

But two Iranian journalists who had commented on the report online said prosecutors had opened cases against them.

And the Gaza war...
,
It is just the strangest thing. On the surface it is as simple as Palestine - Israel conflict but this one has a complicated depth to it.
▫️
The first reaction by anyone I know on October 7th was, "Israel is going to level Gaza". Knowing the background of this conflict it was a no brainer for many to conclude that. But as we actually witnessed this leveling act in action our emotions kicked in and finds it unacceptable. No one in a right mind can accept this, there are lack of humanitarian elements out there that is simply not acceptable. Like food or medicine. But then again the question becomes how come no one (high power) is doing anything.
▫️
It is so strange that no country has sanctioned Israel. Including China Russia and Iran. Iran sanctioned US for the support of Israel but not Israel itself.
▫️
Turkey today stopped trades with Israel until the Israeli Government allows sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
▫️
There is no power out there to stop what is happening. And it comes across as if this thing is doomed to happen in front of everyone's eyes. This is beyond just a conflict between Israel and Palestine. Like there is no Lithium found in Gaza right? I did found out that British Gas discovered natural gas in the Gaza Marine fields 20 miles off the coast of Gaza, with an estimated 1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

I believe students should be allowed to protest, I don't care if they are Bibi lovers all the way to Hamas sympathizers. They can even chant death to America death to Israel all the way death to Palestine. That is their First Amendment rights in this country. There is no ifs or buts about it. As long as they do not intentionally infringe the rights of others or establishment. It is as simple as this.

Then you have the Public Schools vs Private Schools which have certain jurisdictions of their own.

"The right to protest is protected by the freedom of speech and peaceful assembly clauses of the First Amendment. This means that citizens have the right to express their opinions and beliefs through peaceful protests, demonstrations, and assemblies, as long as they do not infringe on the rights of others or violate reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions."

This conflict in Gaza has really brings to the surface the challenge American politics is facing. If you are a leftist jerk who always hated America even if it allowed you to build a great lifestyle here then it is a no brainer, USA sucks. But the majority who are apolitical are decent people who do not want anybody killed or even their rights violated but at the same time want to go to school, graduate, make a living and build a life for themselves without violating anybody else's human rights. How does the government guarantee all that in addition to make its people prosper?

We all know that most of these college administrators are bleeding liberals but they look at all this as "business is business". They will be out of a job if they don't run a smooth operation as most of the college students just want to finish school and get a job. So they ask authorities to clean this stuff up but it is ultimately up to the local PD's. This is as hard as trying to make sense of the original conflict
