Parviz was and is a noble man with political aspiration.  We are not nor aligned politically, but I respect him dearly.  I happened to know one of his political idols, which likely played a big role in moving him to the leftist movement in Iran.  He was a national champion in diving and a very good friend of mine.  Unfortunately, he passed away more than 10 years ago.  He used to live in Dallas, Texas, and I visited him regularly while I was in Texas (Austin, and Dallas).  May he rest in peace.

Carville on Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez tour: ‘When you beat a Republican, come back and see me’

Democratic strategist and pundit James Carville admonished Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and other progressives who have argued the Democratic Party needs radical change in order to beat Republicans in coming elections.

“Bernie has run for president twice, he’s lost twice, AOC and her kind … they want to run against other Democrats,” Carville said during an appearance on Chris Cuomo’s NewsNation program “CUOMO” on Wednesday night. “They don’t want to run against Republicans. When you beat a Republican, come back and see me and I’ll be impressed.”

1- Freedom of speech. Can government dictate what we can say?
Of course I believe in it. Unlike Europe where denying Holocaust is a crime. But I am ok with limitation on hate groups like KKK, NAZI and .... promoting Hatred. Also It was not right to take away that right during Covid. During Covid you could not express your opinion or question Covid or vaccination. You could have been jailed or cancelled.
—-so, government can’t force universities to kick out students who are against Israel! Good
2- Environmental Protection
Believe we should. But it is not new. Climate change since and including the ice age time has been around. African Sahara used to be all lush and green. Agree to deal with it. I also agree when the term changed from "Global warming" to "Climate Change". But we can't just have USA chip in for it while highly populated and top 5 economy like China and India to get away with it. Yes Mother Earth is sacred.
—- Pulling out of French climate agreement and remove any mention of climate from government websites is the best way to deal with this. Climate has changed during the earth’s history but we know for sure humans are causing massive damage to it. It’s not my problem is the best solution.
3- Accepting rule of law and obey court orders no matter whom
Not necessary, that is why there is an appeal court. But at the end after all the process (fair or unfair) that's the judgment. I also believe judges should be non political and non partisan with no bias. Can't have people like George Soros assign judges. He is a dangerous man with a destructive agenda.
—- President or anyone for that matter should follow the law. If Supreme Court which is mainly from Trump appointees says “do this”, he should do it, right?
4- Accept election results after due process.
Sure but you can certainly question it. That is your freedom of speech. Keep in mind it was SCOUS who elected GWB. Al Gore still believes he won Florida. Hillary still believes Trump did not win the election. But at the end just like Al Gore, Hillary, and Trump, no matter how much you try, you concede and move on, even thought it is their right (freedom of speech) to still talk about it and express their opinion.
—-All other former presidents publicly accepted the results. They might not be happy with the results and dragged it but none asked his/her supporters to fight like hell to take it back. No other president went after government officials who disagreed with him/her. Not the same, is it?

Bill Maher Slams 'Woke' Democrats

I think he defines Woke very well.

"There will always be the people in the rear guard -- just like there are people who are still wearing masks [to avoid COVID], you know?" Bill Maher said on the April 13 episode of his "Club Random" podcast."Once you start something, you get a certain amount of cult followers for anything, and then the true believers never die," he continued. "I mean, a lot of people would say right now the Democratic Party is still in that mode, which is going to render them possibly an irrelevant party if they don't change."

Bill Maher later discussed why he thinks the dominant ideology of the Democratic party is flawed. "Woke would like to believe they're some sort of extension of liberalism, but they're not," he said. "They're usually something that's quite opposite," he continued. "Liberalism was, 'We should have a colorblind society and not see race at all.' That's not what the woke believe. They're the opposite: 'Let's put race at the front of everything.'"

Stephanie Turner put on 12-month probation, taking break from USA Fencing career after refusing to compete against trans athlete

Women’s fencer Stephanie Turner will be stepping back from fencing “for a while” after she was placed on a 12-month probation by USA Fencing for refusing to compete against a transgender athlete last month, a report said.

Stephanie Turner, 31, was disqualified from USA Fencing’s Cherry Blossom Open when she took a knee rather than fence Redmond Sullivan, a 20-year-old who was born biologically male.

Iranian vice president resigns

Wednesday's announcement came as Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian formally approved the resignation of one of his vice presidents who served as Tehran's key negotiator in its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.

Mohammad Javad Zarif served as a key supporter of Pezeshkian in his election last year but attracted criticism from hard-liners within the Shiite theocracy, who long have alleged Zarif gave away too much in negotiations.

"Pezeshkian emphasised that due to certain issues, his administration can no longer benefit from Zarif's valuable knowledge and expertise," a statement from the presidency said.

The president in a decree appointed Mohsen Ismaili, 59, to be his new vice president for strategic affairs. In Iran's political system, the president has multiple vice presidents. Ismaili is known as a political moderate and a legal expert.

Welcome to "Trump World"

Araghchi condemned what he called the "contradictory and conflicting positions" coming out of the Trump administration ahead of Saturday's talks.

"We will find out the true opinions of the Americans during the negotiation session," he said.

Iran's top diplomat said he hoped to start negotiations on the framework of a possible agreement but said that required "constructive positions" from the United States.

"If we continue to (hear) contradictory and conflicting positions, we are going to have problems," he warned.

Iran’s Negotiating Position Gets Worse and Worse

Could Mossad kill IRGC air force chief to open up striking Iran nuke program?

Brig.-Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps air force chief, publicly declared his role in trying to harm Israel in multiple rounds of attacking it with around 400 ballistic missiles in 2024.

A number of Israeli and American officials even discussed assassinating him in last October as a potential response to Tehran’s second direct attack – though in the end, Jerusalem sufficed with destroying Iranian air defense and ballistic missile production capabilities.

Farzad:  One of my dearest friend and colleague lost his life saving due to having a kid with Autism.  It basically changed his and his wife life, both highly skilled, one with Ph.D in telecommunication from University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and the other Ph.D in Pharmacy from Duck. They had to sell their house and move back to Iran and live off their Social Security.  It breaks my heart to see them suffering.
Back to the current peace deal, I hear some pro regime madar Ghahveh, now braging about IRI dictating their well on which room they be fucked or who get to fuck them.

Witkoff says any nuclear deal must ‘eliminate’ Iran’s enrichment

White House special envoy Steve Witkoff said Tuesday that any agreement with Iran must “eliminate” uranium enrichment in the country and efforts to construct a nuclear program.

“A deal with Iran will only be completed if it is a Trump deal,” Witkoff said in a statement from his office’s official X account. “Any final arrangement must set a framework for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East — meaning that Iran must stop and eliminate its nuclear enrichment and weaponization program.”

“It is imperative for the world that we create a tough, fair deal that will endure, and that is what President Trump has asked me to do,” said Witkoff, who on Saturday commenced nuclear talks with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
