Comments: We went to Rumi's in Houston along with Tourang and families. We didn't have reservations and that's the first for us with an Iranian place.
Comments: Aziz Asli 😀 Kia ghelich bagheri Moharrami Roshan Parvin Karimi Taremi Daei Azmoun
Comments: Yes Cyruss I should have added Behzadi to the list: Daei was so dominant and accomplished it’s hard to think of any other center forward. Homayoun was my very favorite player as a kid. He scored in almost every Perspolis and TM game he played in
Comments: Best 11: Abedzadeh Kia PAG Jabari Moarami (Mojtaba) Parvin Ghlichkhani Bagheri Karimi Roshan Daei
Comments: But he wasn’t among 17-18 players you named :) Throughout years I have seen many debates on best 11 or best ever or best pre revolution, first time I see any one picking behzadi as best. Don’t take me wrong, he was good , but there were many good at his caliber in his era. Likes of talebi, eftekhari , etc non as complete as Ghelich capable of playing 10 positions.
Comments: I think the best Iranian player before the revolution was Homayoun Behzadi
Comments: if in the 70s, 80s and 90s Asia had more WC spots, our players would have had much more exposure
Comments: Thank you Farzad jan but I am going to have to give Shirzadegan's spot to Azmoun. I'll go with Abedzadeh, Ashtiani, Rezai, Ghelichkhani, Eskandarian, Parvin, Bagheri, Azizi, Taremi, Azmoun, Daie.
Comments: Tough to select best 11, particularly leaving out 80s players. Excluding players of 1980-1996, I would just select two at each line, one pre revolution and one post Goalie: Hejazi/ Abed Back line: Kia/ kargarjam Mid field: Karim Bagheri/ Ghelich Forward: Ali Daei/ Roshan And best ever: Ghelich
Comments: That was a fun day Farzad. After that game was pretty wild walking around the stadium
Comments:
Comments: Farzad, all I have heard is that about 4 top tier clubs after him, city the most serious of them, but parents have been reluctant to see their 14 year old part and play in Europe at such a tender age.
Comments: I missed the whole 1980's so I am sure there was a lot of players like Ghayeghran, Mamadkhani, Derakhshan, Zarincheh etc should be considered 4-4-2 Abedzadeh Mahdavikia-Kashani-Rahman Rezaie-Kargarjam Parvin-Bagheri-Ghelichkhani-Jabari Roshan-Daie Pains me to leave out players like Hejazi, Ashtiani, Talebi, Kalani, Iranpak, Gholam Mazloumi and few more out. I also think the best Iranian player ever was Karim Bagheri
Comments: Shahin and all what is your all time 11 of Team Melli. . DC, I start for you. Shirzadegan. 😊
Comments: Ali Jabbari was huge!

Comments: Farzad: All I know is that Cavan Sullivan can also play for Bangladesh through her maternal grandmother
Comments: Farzad, Rumis’s kitchen is coming to century city. He was doing 33 million with two restaurants in Atlanta before covid. He has opened one in DC, Houston and third one in Atlanta. Customer base is around 15 percent Iranian.

Comments: Farzad, the reason GohNoei picked Shakouri's son is because his father is one of GN's Nochehes. Some years back GN brought TM to Mexico. We went to see the game in San Luis Potosi. We stayed in the same hotel as TM. When the team would come down to the lobby area, it would look like Hadi Shakouri was the only one who would warn up with GN. They were walking around the big lobby and the halls together. So I'm guessing that's what's going on. They're in the same gang that's headed by GN.

Comments: Nice read... I'm an Asylum Seeker Fleeing Iran. I'm Stuck in Limbo Due to Economic Migrants | OpinionFor as long as I can remember, I wanted to come to the United States. I was born in Iran to Marxist–Leninists who had spent time in prison and under torture. Conceived in Marxism, I somehow became obsessed with George W. Bush's message of freedom, and I felt destined for America. At the embassy to get a student visa, I had been instructed to assure the interviewer that I would leave after college, but the staffer didn't ask me whether I intended to stay after my studies and approved my visa on the spot without an FBI check. I know of no other Iranian who got such treatment, and I was over the moon. I had been resenting that I would have to start my American journey with a lie to the U.S. government that I respected and admired so much. I do not believe in fate, but it was fate that I did not have to lie. Or so I thought. As soon as I had the keys to my dorm, I went to the local Target to get some essentials. Knowing that morning coffee was an Americanism, I picked up a cheap Keurig machine at Target and an American flag, which I hung over my bed; throughout college, I slept under its protection and woke up beneath it. The school year's beginning overlapped with the height of the U.S. campaign against the Islamic State, and I was that guy—the immigrant defending American honor with a thick accent against my Lefty classmates who condemned our nation's past and Middle East adventures. Nearly a decade later, I feel that my patriotism for this great republic that I once defended so vociferously has been deeply compromised—not by wars but by a broken immigration system that's threatening us as a nation and myself in a very real way: In December 2016, a newspaper affiliated with the Islamic Revolution's Guardians Corps published my picture on its front page and called me a traitor. The attorney general of Iran then referred my case to the district attorney for the notorious Evin Prison, leading me to apply for asylum. U.S. law requires the government to process asylum applications within 180 days. And yet, I've been waiting for a 30-minute asylum interview for seven years—thanks to a court overwhelmed by those coming through Mexico illegally, 90 percent of whom have no legitimate asylum case. Comments: Yeah, that is interesting about Arsha Shakuri. He is the son of Ex Esteghlal defender, Hadi Shakuri. But then Haghighi has been starting the games for Havadar. I think the person missing is Tractur's keeper Pour Hamidi.
