Comments: I totally forgot about Kurmanji. No I don't. I understand some of it. In Turkey, iraq, and Syria mostly spoken.

Comments: Cyruss, thank you for sharing that story. They must have been speaking either Zaza or Gorani. These Kurdish dialects are so different that sometimes people don't understand each other. I'm. Rare Kurdish who speaks three of the 5 dialects.
Comments: Kamkar, about 50-55 years ago I came across a group of traveling Kurdish Tribe that had crossed the unguarded border from Turkey to Iranian territory. A local charitable man had built a public bath ,close to the border,for the use of tribes on move . This particular tribe would show up once a year to use the facilities. None of our local Kurds could understand their language fully.It seemed like they were just lost in the history. I can’t forget the amazed look of their kids when they saw our jeep. A local guy told us they were descendants of pre Islam rulers of Iran.

Comments: I have to thank Shahin who posts any clips that I have. Zaza Kurdish is extremely difficult for me to understand. I speak Sorani, Horami, and Kalhori (Ketmanshahi dialect close to Farsi).

Comments: Shahin , apparently Palestinian team is missing few players. Couple could not make their way from Ghaza to the camp and one was killed during Israeli bombardment. Nevertheless, they have shown up very competitive in their prep games. A narrow loss to Uzbekistan and a draw against Saudis in the last 10 days. A one or two goals margin for Iran is a reasonable prediction.
Comments: Kamkar, very interesting video clip. Thanks for sharing it. How much of this dialect was understood by you? I sometimes pickup few words here and there from Kurdish songs, but none from this one. Which branch of Kurdish language they are closest to?
Comments: This so far is a very competitive Asian Cup. I think the only tea that will be blown out is Indonesia
