Comments: I know are kidding but I lived in New Orleans for two years and loved it. I used to drive to Hernando Beach, Alabama for swimming and fishing. If they fix the healthcare and make college affordable for my grandkids, I would consider. What I like about a city, regardless of the country is the history, crowds and liveliness. That is why I prefer NY, DC and Boston area to SoCal. Northern Ca was much better but I never got to live there, just visited.

Comments: Shahin, I’m going to disappoint kAmkAr and agree with you without any arguments. Too many people moved to East/West Coast for better jobs. That caused the prices to go higher and higher & the average Joe can’t live & work anywhere close to each other. We need major corporations to move their headquarters to middle of country instead of LA, SF, Boston, NY and DC. Good paying jobs in the middle of the country would create the missing middle class and relieve the overcrowded and expensive coasts. Unfortunately, the large corporations don’t want that since most qualified workers left the middle of the country and don’t want to go back either. Other than that solution, we need to make state colleges and universities free of charge. There are more than enough money we can take from military and subsidized billionaires to cover that!

Comments: What has really disappeared and changed from 1950s and 60s are the good paying skilled union jobs that did not need college degrees. Whether it was a manufacturing job or a janitor for a school district. Many of these type of people were homeowners and that is the number one feature of the American dream
