Comments: I am giving up on politicians but still hope to do my grass root activism. I’ll do what I can but realizing the system is much stronger than average people and getting stronger each day with average Joe becoming less informed.
Comments: That’s ok Zinsky. Those guys loved what you had to say 😏
Comments: kAmkAr, I cared less for politics when I came here in mid 80s. I became interested when Clinton was running. I became more involved during his time but Bush II took the air out of my enthusiasm. I became more involved during Obama and was really excited. I thought we had a breakthrough. After Trump and seeing the congress these days, I am losing hope in the system. I’m at the stage where caring less seems to be the best option.
Comments: I stand corrected!

Comments: yeah, the millennials specially... they want to retire early. Again, it goes back to the way Americans think. They do retirement planning religiously. As soon as they start their career. My daughter sent me this article, asked if I can chip in and help her doing this.... How a 28-year-old managed to retire early and earn $16,000 a month in passive income (cnbc.com)
Comments: Average retirement age was 61 in 2022
Comments: Is it true that Americans are retiring early (before 65)? What is the average age for retirement in America these days?
Comments: Yes Farzad, one of the main issues the economists are worried about is a lot of people leaving the workforce right now. It is putting a burden on stock market and revenues that government is making. They did not anticipate that people are now retiring in their 50s and low 60s as much. I know my own parents retired as soon as they start collecting social security here without a lot of back up cash. Their house was paid for, their taxes were low. My wife's father did the same thing at 64

Comments: Shahin, I was itching to retire just like you before reaching 60. I shared it with my boss and again his thing was just slow down, do some mentorship, and then pass the batton.
I am noticeing that many americans are retiring early. I see a lot of retirements happening for many in their 50's. Mainly because for the quality of life is more important. to be able to physically enjoy the time off. That is because Retirement is actually emphasized in this country at the very young stage of your career. I remember when i was 25, This guy called me about retirement planning. I was like wait a minute I just started my crareer and I have to worry about my retirement? So retirment planning starts at an early stage in this country. Americans do a good job of it. They also do not have the fake gondeh goozi ego many iranians for example in california have (like having a BMW or MBZ) is a must, regardless of whether they can afford it or not. My kids already established IRA accounts and... |
