Comments: kAmkAr, like anything else in life, nothing is perfect. You chose the best package that suits you the best. Maybe in terms of presidential elections, you go with which "fool" benefits you the most. This one's for you. Jonny Cash the GOAT.
Comments: Doostan, Since you all are explaining your reasons for complaining, criticizing, explaining, or whatever other words , I'd like to tell you my reasons when I complain so much about the American Selections. In early days of 1979 when I arrived here I was infatuated with the "Free press" and it was the time when the presidential Selections were heating up. Soon Reagan, the retard, and Carter became the two parties (sar o tahe same Piaz) nominees. They were on TV all the time and as a 19 year old kid I was glued to TV trying to understand what they were talking about. My bad Englisi. Some months later on November the 4th we all remember what happened. The hostages were finally released on the exact day and the minutes the old retard actor got selected. Well, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know what happened. It's been only lately that you start hearing about Regan making a deal with the Mullas not to release them till he has won and he's in the office. We all know that the Mullas hated Carter. That event totally turned me off from this presidential Selection and those were the times that I didn't even know about the Electoral College votes, gerrymandering, or didn't know how big money selects the presidents. After I became a citizen, My mindset didn't change. Of course I do understand that politics in the US is a blood sport and the end justifies the means. Having said all that, I still want my kids to stay here and I'm sure they can do better here than anywhere else on the earth. I do wish my country of birth had the opportunities and the tolerance to accept them because they love Iran but right now it doesn't look that way.
Comments: Shahin, we all have flaws, we have weaknesses and strengths in all areas. I actually feel fulfilled by helping people. And I chose to do it. I help certain poor families (mostly baluch and afghani) in iran through my Kerman connection. I randomly send money to a couple of relatives whom I know are struggling. And in my career after 35 years of service here, I have mentorship duties which takes about one hour a day of my work time. Helping the younger professionals to expand their horizon and see what it takes for which progression path they want to take. About my kids, I emphasized on their education, but never forced them to be a doctor or engineer or a lawyer... Never forced them to speak farsi, yet read or write farsi!! My recommendation to them was do what you llike to do and do what you have passion for. Because if you do what you enjoy, then you never have to work. I also have mentorship activities with nieces and nephews and the extended ones. Basically teaching them living in the gray zone. Make sure to deal with facts and not rumors and not to make false assumptions. See the issues and challenges they encounter with "as is". Don't make it bigger than they are and dont make them lighter than they are. Just see what it is and tackle it. It is easier to solve a complex problem once you simplify it. Teaching them "Let it be". I gave them free audio access to "Excuses begone", and shared with them how to overcome the barrier of "fear" and "excuses" in life. That how fear and excuses can be your enemy. That does not mean I am teaching them how to be reckless. With all the flaws I have and my shortcomings, I feel good about myself. Do not carry a big ego, but I am vocal where I need to be. I believe in "happiness" and I belive that unit and measure of success is nothing but "happiness". I also believe that that Happiness is not a desination, a target, or a finishline, Happiness is the path/road in our everyday life. I Like to be rewarded and like to leave a legacy. Career wise as we talked about the other day (tokhmi tokhmi discussion), i was never that ambitious to become a VP or anything like that, as work/life balance and spending time with family was extremely important for me. Like to be rewarded and like to leave a legacy. The biggest compliment I got in my career as a program director was by an Israeli in an award ceremony when I succesfully finished a very challanging project / program. He said, "if Islamic Republic had a program director like him, they would have had the bomb by now." Life is good. Life is precious. You only live once (at least on this planet), and I am simply so thankful and grateful for it. When one can open his eyes in the morning and stand vertical, there is so much to be thankful for. And this is my daily prayor, this is how I dicatate my day: Life is a joy and filled with love I am loving, lovable, and Loved I am healthy and filled with Energy I prosper wherever I turn I am willing to change and to grow Today is a great wonderful and a loving day And all I well in my world and in my life And lastly...... "At the end everything will be alright, if it is not alright now that means it is not the end yet" Took that from one of the greatest movies I have ever seen: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel Anyways... wanted to share something ...
Comments: Zinsky: As you can tell I do read the other site too and it matters to me that you stay consistent otherwise I will not be able to accept what you say here at face value

Comments: Zinsky: I look at the upcoming election as entertainment & fun. Can you imagine how fun Trump/Biden debate would be ![]() Sure there is a lot at stake but nothing I can do about it so I look for the entertainment aspect of it without getting upset and disillusioned.
Comments: Shahin, I’ve been visiting and posting on with this group (some new members, some left, some split, …) for over 25 years, maybe more. It’s the same reason I keep coming back. Exchange of ideas, learn, get informed and all that good stuff. My last complaint of the day is about me getting the label of the complainer! I think I complain the right amount 🤣😩🥴 It’s all good. I can handle much more than I did before because I don’t take things seriously anymore. I’m getting older and hopefully wiser. Lately, I feel closer to kAmkAr’s overall understanding of the world politics. For the first time in a long time, I’m not excited about elections. I’m not doing anything about it and even possibly not going to vote at all.
Comments: All good. I know I complain a lot but it’s out of love 😎 Either way, something we don’t need to nag about, at least for a day! https://youtu.be/jVvv7Pyscbw?si=YgUOF3CE8dxSHVeh
Comments: Zinsky: I generally agree with you but I do try to not just nag here. I also come here to inject some positiveness in my life, exchange ideas and learn about the psychology of people. I think these are fun. The situation in Iran is sad and dire so if I don’t discuss it (nag) I will get depressed. But the main reason I come here to visit my friends including you that I care about. Old days we used to call people we cared about daily, today we may FaceTime and in this virtual world we do this
Comments: Shahin, I don’t judge people. I don’t have the moral ground to tell people what they need to do. I’ll do my best. Unfortunately, I don’t think anything I’ve done has resulted in much improvement in lives of people in America. That has been my goal. It’s not all god and mighty either. I wanted better life for myself and my kids/family as well as others. One thing I agree with most people is that doing what we do online in a football chat room is mainly nagging without any real action/results. I can come here 12 times a day and curse at IRI as most of us do but it will not help anyone but myself and others in the page. We feel better about ourselves and get the anger out about our homeland but nothing will change. I suppose online chat rooms are mainly for that. Exchange ideas, nag about things. If not nagging about the right things, go to another chat room and find people who are nagging about your nags!
Comments: Shahin, the difference is you were not just involved in politics. You were committed. And there is a difference.
In the "Bacon and Egg" project, the Hen is involved, the Pig is committed.
Comments: I serve food every thanksgiving morning. Except last year. We were eating Yamani on Turkey day.
Shahin, I did my share too with Dem party. Donations and everything. Paid $250 for a plate with Billy in 92. (That was cheap, considering). But when it came to the warmonger Neocons of the party (Hillary , Biden, ...) taking over, it changed everything for me. Still have hope that these hawkish criminals will give the party back to those who really care about the values the Democrat party stands for.

Comments: Shahin, A short, sweet, Timeless, classic, and a hauntingly beautiful song. https://youtu.be/lrpXArn3hII?si=imQvYOkbjOP8NhfW
Comments: Zinsky: Don't get me wrong, I have not done much either beside contributing to Democratic Party causes here or there (Farzad ). I once as a young man did go collect signature for something. So there is nothing wrong with building a future for yourself & later focusing on your family.Oh I forgot I do go serve food every few years at St. Anthony's in SF
