Inter Milan Linked Iran FIFA World Cup Star Won’t Pressure Porto To Sell Him

Inter Milan linked striker Mehdi Taremi isn’t going to pressure his club Porto into selling him this summer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the the Portuguese giants want at least €30 million to sell the 31-year-old, who isn’t going to force an exit in any event.

Gianluca Scamacca is no longer a possibility after the 24-year-old joined Atalanta officially yesterday.

And while Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun is a major target for the Nerazzurri, there would be a couple potential reasons why the US international wouldn’t be ideal.

One is the fact that Arsenal are holding out for at least €40 million for the 22-year-old’s signature. And moreover, Balogun is not really a traditional striker.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi reportedly wants a complete striker with the physical ability to hold up the ball.

Inter Target Mehdi Taremi Won’t Force Porto Exit This Summer

One player who is still on Inter’s radar who certainly would fulfill Inzaghi’s criteria is Taremi. The Iranian international striker became Portugal’s top striker last season. This was the second time he has achieved this feat.

Furthermore, Taremi also provides the kind of reference point in attack the Nerazzurri coach wants from his striker. Taremi’s current contract with Porto expires at the end of June 2024, hich could be a boost for Inter.

If the Portuguese club cannot convince their striker to sign an extension, this summer may be their last opportunity to cash in.

However, FCIN1908, this is not causing Porto to lower their demands much. The Portuguese want a fee of at least €30 million.

And for his part, the outlet anticipates, the player is not going to put much in the way of pressure on them.

If Porto do not agree a deal with any other club at their desired fee, Taremi would be happy to stay next season.
