Comments: Water is already but will become even more critical than oil and gas in most regions but specifically in Middle East. Unfortunately for Iran, most of the rivers coming to Iran come from neighboring countries. So far Iraq has been friendly towards Iran but Pakistan, Afghanistan and Russia and other northern countries are blocking the water supplies before it reaches Iran. On the other hand, the climate change and mismanagement of the existing water supplies is causing massive issues in Iran. Iran is nearly 50% desert. The other 50% will turn into desert in the next 20-50 years if nothing is done. |
