Farzad, since I was the one that brought up IBA vs IOC, I suppose your comment may have been directed towards me. I didn’t say IBA was right wing or IOC on the left.

Amy Broadhurst ( Irish) the last female boxer that beat the Algerian, shared her comments on this piece:
……..The situation has caused a deluge of hate, aggression and misinformation online surrounding Khelif with the likes of author JK Rowling and billionaire Elon Musk voicing their opposition to her competing in the Games.
but before the Algerian’s victory at Paris 2024, Broadhurst – a boxer who beat Khelif in the welterweight final of the 2022 IBA Women’s World Championships – defended her in a social media post.
“Have a lot of people texting me over Imane Khelif,” she wrote on Twitter/X. “Personally I don’t think she has done anything to ‘cheat’.
“I think it’s the way she was born and that’s out of her control. The fact that she has been [beaten] by nine females before says it all.”

I read that when she quit, she kept saying : "it's not fair". I felt bad for her, she is not a villain in this

Comments:

Afterward, a still-tearful Carini said she quit because of intense pain in her nose after the opening punches. Carini, who had a spot of blood on her trunks, said she wasn't making a political statement and was not refusing to fight Khelif.

I felt a severe pain in my nose, and with the maturity of a boxer, I said, ‘Enough,’ because I didn’t want to, I didn’t want to, I couldn’t finish the match," Carini said.

Carini further said that she is not qualified to decide whether Khelif should be allowed to compete, but that she had no problem fighting her.

“I am not here to judge or pass judgment,” Carini said. "If an athlete is this way, and in that sense it’s not right or it is right, it’s not up to me to decide. I just did my job as a boxer. I got into the ring and fought. I did it with my head held high and with a broken heart for not having finished the last kilometer.”

“I am heartbroken because I am a fighter," Carini said. “My father taught me to be a warrior. I have always stepped into the ring with honor, and I have always (served) my country with loyalty. And this time I couldn’t do it because I couldn’t fight anymore, and so I ended the match.”

Bill Maher: I have not Changed, the Left has

No the pronoun thing was a seperate subject which came from a Left Wing liberal, Bill Maher.

Also let's not  just arbiterary label IBA (International Boxing Association) Right Wing, and IOC (International Olympic Committee) as Left wing. People have some level of intelligence which they like to have respected.

You are the one who brought up the pronouns. Unless that was a non related comment which I also commented on

No let's not politicize this. This has nothing to do with Right Wing, lets not muddy the water..... as I said Left and Right were questioning it and there was pros and cons discussion on it on NBC.  And NBC has nothing to do with Right Wings. They are just covering the Olympics.

So yeah many like KAmkAr who has nothing to do with the Right Wing are commenting on it.

Comments:
Yeah it is not a transgender issue as this individual has an XY (men) chromosoms and a female genitalia. A very rare Olympic situation. I don't think it is political since today both left and right scholars are questioning the decision.. NBC Good Morning America, a self claimed liberal network channel was all over it today.

On these rare situations you got to go to the director of common sense :

Director of Common sense says:
Compromising the Sports and Safety for a very small and a very rare percentage of atheletes that may ever come across the situation, this is not worth it. The safety of the athletets and the fairness and integrity of competing fairly should take precedence here.

Maybe IOC should think about a seperate category for these rare situations. Just like disabled people. Some are born disabled or they had something happen to them. I guess the same logic can be applied to those who are born with DSD and those who chose to transition in their lifetime.

This Algerian woman’s case has nothing to do with pronouns but as I said the right media want to take it there.
On the pronouns, I live right now on an area that is the epicenter for these issues. I know only one person that is asking to be addressed as “they”. It’s a sister of my son’s friend from elementary school. I gladly do it and when I slip, it is not a big deal to them as they know I am not being malicious. This issue should be a non-issue as it really does affect a very small population and it’s mostly a right wing media blowing it up as if people are being converted to be trans.

Kamkar Jon, what rules? There are no rules on this, as this ( and Taiwan’s case) is a rare situation.
Each governing body have their own standards.
IOC doesn’t recognize IBA and they are at odds with each other.
The opposite argument could also be presented: why IBA doesn’t follow IOC rules?
It seems like public has taken the stance that a male defeated a female. Although all the documents and scientific tests suggest that the Algerian was born and raised as female. She is not a transgender.
She is just a rare medical case of a female with XY chromosomes.
Why should she be discriminated over fear and phobia of a certain political agenda?

“The IOC is saddened by the abuse that the two athletes are currently receiving,” it added. “Every person has the right to practice sport without discrimination.”

Khelif landed a heavy punch on her opponent, Italy’s Angela Carini, in their bout on Thursday, forcing Carini to quit after only 46 seconds. After Khelif’s hand was raised to signal her victory, Carini dropped to her knees in tears.

Carini could also be heard telling her coach, “It’s not right, it’s not right!” before promptly leaving the arena. Carini suffered a suspected broken nose, and the 25-year-old told reporters that she had never been punched so hard in her career.
