Comments: And my point before your سفسطه was cutting hundreds of thousands of federal jobs by musk, doesn’t do smallest dent in to federal deficits. Optics are even worse, when considering how many lucrative contracts he has gotten since new administration. At least from conflict of interest point of view. And if penny pinching is an issue, how about the cost of Trump’s weekly vacations in Florida? Appointing security details for deputy ministers for the first time in US history ( each detail providing operation could involve up to 32 details) What would the optics be when Spain trump succeds with his birthday special military parade in the streets of DC? The cost of parade, added to it, the cost of infrastructural damage that city will suffer?
Comments: Farzad, My hope for negotiation:
Comments: Thanks Saeed. Now tell me about Saturday. What do you want to see as an outcome and what do you think will happen. I think the discussions will not go far. And Israel will bomb all the nuke facilities in iran. There will be some retaliation by IRI but then knowing Akhunds they will concede for survival. The negotiation is basically this. Will you voluntary dismantle or shall we do it the hard way. There is no concession whatsoever.
Comments: I may be wrong But here is your answer: Singapore ( they pride themselves as free trade hub) almost zero tariffs on US goods except for Alcohol and Tobacco China before trade war of 2018, and according to world trade organization data , on average 8-10 percent of, depending on the category of goods and retaliatory measures taken by US. In certain categories like agricultural and pork products it was higher ( 15-20) percent, mainly on soy beans. Again according to the world trade data ,In 2024, before the escalation of the U.S.-China trade war under the second Trump administration, China’s tariffs on U.S. goods averaged around 6% to 8% across most sectors,. Agricultural products like soybeans, pork, and wheat faced higher tariffs, sometimes 10%-15%, due to earlier trade tensions lingering from 2018-2019. Specific goods, like coal or certain machinery, occasionally saw tariffs up to 15% depending on bilateral agreements and retaliatory measures from prior disputes. Singapore, maintainedits free-trade stance, imposed effectively 0% tariffs on nearly all U.S. goods in 2024, except for select items like alcohol and tobacco products. To the best of my knowledge. MAGA outlets and Fox News may disagree with the above. Now, why are you so sensitive about Singapore? Just because I posted a video on how a statesman should talk and present his case without being a bully?
Comments: Let’s accept the fact that Farzad truly believes these policies are helpful to US economy. Let’s accept the fact that he believes Trump is a smart businessman and what he is doing is for America and Americans. Reality is that we can’t convince anyone otherwise, even if the results are right in front of us.
Comments: Cyruss so what was exactly your point? Like, you know well before these new tariffs, Both Singapore and China already levied tariffs on our exports but we did not. So why is it good that they can tariff us to limit our exports, but we cannot. Just wanted to understand the logic. I am all 👂
Comments: See more poise on Tajiks than Iranians.
Comments: Farzad, happy Friday I don’t know what brought poor China thing or cuttings jobs سفسطه، being melted in MAGA, the fact that comprehension is not your strong point and gets taken over by your preconceived assumptions or just being your usual sarcastic teasing self . That is ok, I’m used to your bias perceived notions in favor of addressing the points raised.

Comments: Anyways. What is everyone's take on the negotiations tomorrow. What would you consider a good outcome? Like to hear. Saeed??!
Comments: It was classic HAMVATAN. I have to say it. It was fun. Still go back and keep reading them. Mind blowing🤯. Why is he not cutting manufacturing jobs in USA 😆😆😆. Boeing, Tesla, GM, Ford, Alcoa, Amazon, Starlink, Walmart, Space X, Ti , Intel. I will post how much jobs these companies created in the US. And Cyruss was like, poor China and Singapore ☺️ Regardless, I know you guys were joking. فقط یه بار سر کار برا شوخی همشده اینو پست نکنی. I know you won't ☺️
Comments: "فرزاد، التماس سفسطه" ![]() "التماس سلف ریسپکت😆" Farzad, take a look in the mirror.
Comments: IPL: Cyruss 2-2 Farzad
Comments: Thank you guys for providing some useful facts (Cyrus, Hamvatan). The bottom line is US expense is going toward things that are unlikely to change. So that amplify my position that repayment of deficit can neither be helped with saving nor tariffs. Tariffs are a highly specialized matter and varies according to the industry. If this was going to be something serious, it should have included people with real experience, not like Trump and his team. I really enjoyed listening to the prime minister of Singapore. He seemed quite knowledgable.
