Comments: Zinsky: Yes for refugee type immigration US has never been the best place and never will. An acquaintance of a friend reached out so that she can come here for under grad. Her parents are not rich but are willing to sacrifice and frankly risk it for this girl to somehow get out. She is also willing to work hard through uncertainty because she has no choice. She connected with a professor at the local state university here to get a I-20. He also is going to facilitate for possible work permit in & outside school and actually we are all trying to find her something helping her pay the tuition. Anyway this is what I mean by motivated educated people wanting to get out and live here
Comments: Zinsky, Those prices are ridiculous. Instead of going to another continent move to south Texas. With that type of money you can buy a 3000 square feet in a good neighborhood down here. The weather is kinda shitty but you get used to it. That's admirable how easily you talk about moving to a whole new country in our age. When I came here in my late teens it was all an adventure. Now even thinking about moving across the street is frightening to me.
Comments: “ if you are well educated or you can figure out how financially get through college then it is still the best place” True but that is a big IF! Tuitions between $20k to $100k. Rent over a $1,000/month. Food, gas, and god forbid medical expenses are just crazy. My tuition was under $1,000/semester. Rent (3 people in 3 bedrooms) less than $200. Gas was under a $1/gallon and big Mac meal under $4! I don’t know how many newcomers can effort this. kAmkAr, You and I both when it comes to our kids. My eldest is a PharmD making good money but with some student loan and the cost of living, she can’t effort to buy a 1 bedroom condo!!! Of course this area is stupidly crazy expensive. A 150 year old, 450 sqft apartment goes for $400-500k and that is not including the $500-$1,000 condo fee/month!!! I’m fully prepared for my move to Portugal and the kids are more than happy to follow. Waiting for my retirement and my 2nd kid finishing her degree.

Comments: You know back when before the WWII, communist movement was kind of starting something in America. They cut it right there. This globalism shit is the same thing, it should have never been allowed to breach into our society. On the surface it promotes equality and elimination of boundaries. But in reality it is an instigator for racism, Polarism, and it is divisive. Of course trans and non binary people have to be accommodated. These people are humans with some (I don't know what the right word is but let's call it "anomaly"). But going off limit and for example have a trans to participate in female track and field competition may not be the greatest idea. I think at some point we may have a special Olympics for them. Just like male and female are separated and have their own competition nothing wrong with that group of fine people having their own. And that is my whole point again. It takes us democrats to fix and reclaim our party back. Demonizing and belabeling people like RFK Jr is a wrong thing to do. At least let them know hey it is wrong, let me hear what he has to say Instead of shutting them down and censoring them. That's not America. We have never done that. And then now we say it's ok to censor because some people may not take it right?
Comments: Nothing new I'm gonna write here. Just wanted to chime in. It's no secret that the politics in this country is going crazy. Trump started his 2016 campaign with the famous descend from the Trump tower stairs. First thing that came out of his filthy mouth was insulting Mexicans. Then the country exploded with racial overtone. The narrative was that Trump impowered these nutcases but I really think that Fox News was the initial ignite. The two sides have gone to their crazy corners and are not willing to give an inch. Extreme left is as crazy as extreme right.
Comments: Shahin. My point is the same thing. I know you. All I am telling you is that this DEM party of now is actually the opposite of things you stand for. They just say the so called right things. But in action they are simply deceiving. Republicans at least do not need to fake anything. Their nature as bad as it is, is still transparent.
Comments: All it takes is to zoom out a bit. And then we see the real picture. And then we can make the right moves. Then we can see that our problem is not "He / She", our problem is not "Black / white" our problem is not (Dems / Reps). Our democrat liberal president prosecutes Anita Hill, calls her a liar and sends a n ultra conservative Clarence Thomas to Supreme Court and then we label him as someone with moral values? A top Democrat which was instrumental in taking US to an unjustified war and now we expect peace and unification from him? Republicans, the same crap.
Comments: On new comers coming to US, if you are well educated or you can figure out how financially get through college then it is still the best place. I have seen recently few cases of F-1 students coming to US from Iran for under grad and they are not from rich families
