Comments: Farzad, the humanitarian response of Angelenos has been incredible and contrary to the snobbish stereotypes. We had to stop collecting essentials and taking them to the distribution centers because most of the centers have more than their capacity to distribute! Specially clothes. Few reasons for that , mainly because the victims of fire don’t have any place to store material beyond their need, and secondly most stay at shelters temporarily and then get scattered all over, at their families even out of state. You are absolutely right, shoes were one of our major challenges. Very few were donated. Personal hygiene material is also in demand.

Food, water, baby clothes, clothes, baby needs, and blankets are pouring. But one thing people need desperately is shoes. Shoes are something not on people list. Does not need to be new.
