Donald Trump says 2026 World Cup ticket holders will get priority for US visas

FIFA World Cup ticket holders from around the world will be able to get prioritized U.S. visa appointments, President Donald Trump announced Monday at the White House.

Trump was joined by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Andrew Giuliani of the White House's World Cup Task Force and others to make the announcement.

According to the officials at the event, the system will be called FIFA PASS, which stands for Prioritized Appointment Scheduling System.

"If you have a ticket for the World Cup, you can have a prioritized appointment to get your visa," Infantino said. "Next year, we will have between six and seven million tickets sold for the matches, will have between five and 10 million people coming to America from from all over the world to enjoy the World Cup. And with FIFA PASS, we can make sure that those who buy a ticket that are legitimate football fans, or soccer fans, they can come and attend the World Cup."

The system will allow people who purchased tickets through FIFA to get priority from the U.S. State Department to receive a visa.

Houston is one of 16 host cities for next summer's World Cup, which will be played in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. NRG Stadium will host seven matches during the tournament, including a Round of 16 match on July 4.
