Comments: Talking about U23 gave me a flashback from exactly 50 years ago. The western provinces NoJavanan (U16) competition was hosted by Kermanshah. We took the first place among the four teams. I played every minute of the three games. A month later the finals were in Amjadieh. I, along with most of the team had not been in Tehran yet let alone play in Amjadieh. A few days before departure 5 of us were told we won't be going only to find out we were replaced by others whom we knew and they were in their early 20's. They were using their younger brother's birth certificate. One of them who was مشی باوی who was this towering big body thick bearded man, also known as the tough guy in the football community back then whom you would try to avoid. He let go of the beard to look younger. Anyways, Kermanshah made it to the final against Tehran and they lost. The game was played just before a Takhte Jamshid match. Perspolis was going to play and the stadium was in full capacity.

Comments: Kamkar: Men's pro players play so many more games a year vs women especially in Champion's, Europa, etc. I also think FIFA would rather them play Copa America & Euros vs playing in Olympics. I am ok with it
Comments: I don't know how truthful stories like this one might be but we hear a lot of similar ones. If true, our future is doomed. هیچ وقت نژاد برای من مهم نبوده پس اگر ناراحتتون میکنه فقط به چشم یک داستان بهش نگاه کنید: طرف از جنوب رفته اصفهان پیش خانوادش. نشستن پای ورق بازی و شرط سر تخمه و بستنی. بازی رو باخته. میره سوپری خرید کنه. چند ساعت طول میکشه و برنمیگرده. گوشیش خاموش هست و خانواده نگران میشن. از درو همسایه و سوپری های محل پرس و جو میکنن. یکی از مغازه دارها میگه اومد اینجا و ۲۰دقیقه ای بود و خرید کرد و کلی گفتیم و خندیدیم. با پلیس و اورژانس تماس میگیرن، بی اطلاع هستن. در مسیر سوپری تا منزل بستنی آب شده و... رو کنار خیابون پیدا میکنن. دوربین هارو چک میکنن و میبینن چند نفر موتور سوار با لباس افغانی بهش حمله کردن و با خودشون بردنش. بعد از چند روز آگاهی تماس میگیره: ۷تا جسد پیدا شده اطراف شهر برای شناسایی تشریف بیارید. مادر و خواهر جسد رو شناسایی میکنن. بدون انگشتر و گردنبند و گوشی. ۷نفر،۷جان برای چندرغاز. 🔗 آلبر کامو (@albert_camus_ir)
Comments: Yes, obviously it's the rule but that doesn't make it fair. If it was the other way around, women would have raised hell. About the pro players, it wasn't only soccer, basketball pro players weren't able to compete either. The US was dominating the sport with their amateur college players. Hats off to Simone Biles to shine after her disappointment in the last Olympics. She's considered in her grandma age for the sport but a source of inspiration for the team. Iran will be getting on the medal count table when our usual medal winning events start.

Comments: That's just the rule. There used to be a rule that professional players cannot compete in Olympic soccer.
